Somewhere
out there
Beneath
the pale blue light
Someone's
thinking of me
And
loving me tonight
Hermione cast a glance out the window and watched the fireflies' dance among the shadows cast by the moon. There was a deep void in her heart, but it wasn't an unknown, black hole. It was a void she knew exactly how to fix, but she just couldn't do it. She knew that she was missing Ron. Of course, she and Ron were still friends, but they'd had an argument that evening. The way she was feeling wasn't the way she normally felt in the aftermath of an argument with Ron. She missed him as her friend of course, but still, there was still something else.
Somewhere
out there
Someone's
saying a prayer
That
we'll find one another
In
that big somewhere out there
Then she saw it shooting through the sky, a star. She muttered that childhood poem she'd always liked, and felt silly as she wished that Ron could hear her and could understand how she felt, even for just a minute. But somehow, with sinking resignation, she knew that it would never be.
And
even though I know
How
very far apart we are
It
helps to think that we might be
Wishing
on the same bright star
She understood the concept of 'friends'. She knew what that title entitled them. But she was consistently finding that as he whispered to her, there'd be more than just teasing, or that as he put an arm around her shoulder, it'd be more for a feeling than a habit. Sometimes, she'd close her eyes and just imagine how wonderful the two of them would be together, if only he could see it as well.
And
when the night wind starts to whisper
Its
lonesome lullaby
It
helps to think
We're
sleeping underneath the same big sky
Hermione began to climb into her four-poster. The wind whistled by her slightly opened window, and she pulled her blankets closer to her chin. She sighed as she lied her head against the fluffy pillow. Maybe someday she'd work up the nerve to tell Ron, but then she'd have to suffer the consequences as he would most likely laugh at her funny 'joke'. She knew that he could never take her seriously. But maybe with enough hoping and wishing, maybe someday the two could live happily ever after.
Somewhere
out there
If
love can see us through
Then
we'll be together
Somewhere
out there
Out
where dreams come true
Ron turned restlessly beneath his sheets…He couldn't help thinking about her hair, and her eyes, and her smile, and her laugh. He just wanted to grab her, pull her close, and kiss her. But he knew he couldn't. She'd either laugh or burst into tears. Either way, it would not be a pleasant experience. He could tell his two best friends everything. But neither of them knew about this. Maybe they would, someday…and maybe there would be a happy ending…just maybe…
A/N: Yeah, this is pretty horrible. I need to get over some rotten writer's block- nope, wait. I'm not using it as an excuse. Just review if you'd like. I would appreciate it. Thank you!
