Whee! I decided to write a poem!!! It's been sooo long since I last wrote poetry... and yes, I cheated by using an online rhyming dictionary.
Yeah, the title isn't too original... XD But here, what I mean is Ōkami as in, 'Great God'.
Oh, and the strange thing is, why should I rate this story K when the game itself is rated T?! And since it's usually only the people who have played it before who read the fics, then shouldn't EVERY Ōkami fic be rated T? Just one of those questions, I guess...
And boy, someone is feeling happy-go-lucky today. Oh, and by the way, that certain someone doesn't own Ōkami-the-game (which she finally completed after 75 hours!!!) but DOES own Ōkami-the-poem. Uhh... sorta?
Anyways, on with it!!!
Ōkami
I worship a certain deity
From the forgotten days of old-
The wolf with fur as white as snow,
And dazzling sunlit eyes of gold.
For when all was torn and shattered
And the only one left was you,
You came to mend our broken souls
And ignite our lost hope anew.
The fresh flowers bloom in your trail
As you race across the vast land,
While you defeat all our demons-
The gods' powers at your command.
When you follow your own pathway
Dancing more swiftly than the breeze,
Time slows to watch your silver form
As you quell the tempests with ease.
For you, the rain falls down with joy,
Soft thunder applauding your deeds.
The fireworks dance in your name
While gradually, evil recedes.
Your melodious howls cut through
The lonely hours of the night.
And even in the cold darkness,
For you, the moon shines ever bright.
Now wolf, climb towards the heavens-
Towards your heart's true desire.
For no matter where you may be,
In my heart burns on your fire.
By the way, did you know that I *attempted* to include hints of each Celestial Brush power (each different element) in the poem? Just a single barely noticable hint for each one, but they're still there!!!
So now, I think I'll write a story about Issun, or someone else... (but I'm still sorely tempted to do another 'what if' story that ends in poor Ammy kicking the bucket...) Er, suggestions, anyone? (If not, warning: I really might do it again... Mwahahaha!)
