The Veil

This was actually inspired by Redwall, of all things, but until I get my Redwall fics typed up, this is most appropriate here.

The Veil

A veil separating the children of Adam

From the shekinah glory of the Lord

A veil restricting human access

From the majestic glory of the Lord

Oh to enter the inner sanctuary

To commune with the God I love

To enter behind the crimson veil

That hides the glory of God above

Remove the veil, let me come to You

Take away what keeps me from Your glory

Let me fellowship with Your Spirit

Let me dwell in Your shekinah glory

But I am not worthy for the Holy of Holies

Your glory would destroy my flesh and sin

Since man's fall none have been worthy

To meet You one on one again

Then the atonement Lamb was killed

and the earth was shaken and the veil torn away

Your glory flowed from the temple

Your shekinah glory is with us to this day

Tear away the veil, let me come to You

Remove what keeps me from Your glory

Tear away the veil keeping me from Your Spirit

Now I may dwell in Your shekinah glory
