Chapter 1

Dark Waters.

As far as Peter's eye could see, were dark and murky waters. As for the disciples themselves; they were in a mass hysteria. The ship was swaying to and fro. At any given moment, the ship could suddenly jerk, tossing all its inhabitants onto the merciless sea.

Peter cast a glance at John's panic-stricken face. "We're going to drown!" John shouted. The other disciples mirrored John's wide-eyed fear. James spoke in a hurried tone, "Peter, hurry and go wake the Lord! If you don't wake him up we're all going to die!"

Jesus…Jesus will know what to do. Peter hurried to the Lord's resting chamber. As he came to Jesus' cushion, Peter raised an eyebrow. Jesus, how in the world are you asleep through this? "Jesus, wake up! Lord, don't you care if we drown?!"

For the first time that night, Jesus stirred and opened his eyes. After giving a small yawn, Jesus looked compassionately into Peter's worried face, got up and went to the front of the boat. The Lord looked at the wind and the waves, and with a stern rebuke commanded, "Quiet! Be still!" To the disciples shock, the tumultuous waters suddenly quieted down. Soft murmurs spread on the small boat.

Jesus looked at them and asked, "Just why are you so afraid? Do you still have no faith?" Do you realize who you are with? I am with you. The disciples could only give bewildered looks to each other as they said, "Who in the world is this? Even the winds and the waves stop to obey him!"

Dark Waters Revisited.

They couldn't stay still. There was something in the air – some kind of feeling…something tangible in the air that was making their hair on the disciples' backs stand straight up. Peter was getting nervous as well. So nervous in fact, that when one of the disciples shouted "G-Ghost incoming!" Peter almost fell off the boat. However soon enough they realized it was no ghost.

"Don't be afraid, it is I. Take courage!" Jesus reassured the apprehensive group as he approached them on top of the water. Jesus, is that really you? I want to go to you. Peter said in a shaken voice, "Lord, if that is really you…please tell me to come to where you are."

"Come," Jesus softly answered.

Thomas was distressed as Peter started to move off the boat. "Peter, don't do it! We're men for crying out loud. We can't walk on water!" Peter looked back at Thomas' worried expression. It's true…we can't walk on water. Peter started to hesitate with doubt and fear. He looked up to Jesus' comforting face. Jesus. Before anyone else could persuade him Peter climbed over the boat and went onto the water. To all the disciples' astonishment, Peter was slowly walking to the Lord.

However, all too soon a small wind blew that shook Peter's confidence and to his terror he started to drown. But before it was too late Jesus took a strong hold of Peter's arm and held him up as they made it back to the boat together. Peter and the other disciples could only look onto the Lord in an astounded stupor. Jesus, you are amazing.

Author Notes: Well I had this idea with Peter that I really wanted to write on. I thought I would be able to write it all in one sitting but I can see that it's not going to be that easy. I'm guessing this is going to be my first multi-chapter project and it should be completed in under 4-5 chapters. To my first ever reviewer, I have not forgotten you. I thought I had a written copy of my testimony somewhere but I guess not. I'm going to write it down once I get the chance and I'll probably post it. Look for the next chapter to be completed soon; hopefully within 2-3 days.

It's called No way, José.
