Drabble – Stranger II (Apparently this story wasn't finished yet!)

Hephaestion entered the kitchen and stopped dead in his tracks. He had been drawn to the wonderful aromas but what he saw before him, left him speechless.

Every man in the room was bend over a stool with his head plastered against the wall. Groans, grunts were sprinkled with various off-color words. In the middle of the room stood the cook, a look of complete satisfaction on her face. She spotted Hephaestion and smiled at him.

Out of the corner of his downcast face, Alexander spotted Hephaestion and let go of the chair so he could finally stand up straight.

"Hephaestion, try this, this is strange, if anyone can do it, you can."

"What makes you think I can?"

Alexander pulled Hephaestion over to the wall and told him what to do. He didn't see Hephaestion and the cook exchange glances. Everyone else had stopped doing what they were doing, or trying to do, and watched.

Hephaestion stood in front of the wall with the stool in front of him, leaned forward over the stool, picked up the stool and stood up. An audible gasped filled the room peppered with new naughty words.

Now more determined than ever, the men turned back to their own stools and stuck their behinds out into the room again trying to pick up the stools and stand up. All except Alexander, he stood with a complete look of awe on his face as he looked at Hephaestion.

"How did you do that?"

Hephaestion innocently asked, "Do what?"

"Picked up that damn stool?"

Hephaestion turned and repeated what he had just done. "Like this?"

Alexander, cussing and snorting returned to his stool, more determined than ever to pick the damn thing up. If Hephaestion could do it, he could do it.

Hephaestion went to stand beside the cook, who by now had her hand covering her mouth to hold back her laughter.

"Should I tell him yet?"

"Not yet, I'm having to much fun watching them all, besides it isn't that often I get to see so many cute behinds wiggling at me." Said the cook.

Hephaestion remembered the day he had walked in on her doing this to another man and laughed at the look on her face when she challenged Hephaestion and he had been able to pick up the stool. She had see it happen a couple of times before that, a man had been able to stand after picking up the stool, but it happened rarely. She decided these men were rare and had been glad that Hephaestion had been one of them.

The naughty words and groaning continued from around the room. She asked Hephaestion if he wanted some fresh apple pie, and cut him a big slip. She cut herself a big slice too, and sat next to him.

"Will he be mad when he finds out?"

"I doubt it." Said Hephaestion. "He always thought I was a little strange anyway, this will just make me a little stranger."
