(Mikala's POV)
One stormy night alone I was sitting in my living room staring at the bright screen of our television set. "Hi sweets" my mom Sarah said, as she walked through the front door.
"Hey mom" I replied with my eyes still locked on the screen.
"Why aren't you outside playing it's a gorgeous day" Mikala's mom took the remote from off the edge of the couch's armrest and turned off the T.V.
"Hey I was watching cartoons"
"Well either go get some fresh air or study for school"
"Okay fine" I scrambled up off the carpet and slipped on my tennis shoes and put on my normal sky blue jacket. Some things can be boring in Amity Park. Actually nothing was boring in Amity. That's because our town is basically a paranormal target for ghosts. I mean literally Amity Park is overrun with ghosts. Luckily we have at least one good ghost on our side to help fight off ghosts. He calls himself Danny Phantom, when we used to call him Inviso-Bill or something like that. I could say he's the town hero because he fends off ghosts and it's funny because he's different from all the other ghosts and protects our town instead of destroys it. It seems every day there's a ghost and he's there to fight it. Sometimes I think that I've seen him before, other than him fighting ghosts like he has some kind of secret identity of sorts. You know he'll come, fight, and leave without a trace.
I walked around checking out all the places in the neighborhood. I got bored of just walking and took a shortcut home that I had found the other day when coming home form school. I found my house number is just a few minutes and unlocked the door. As soon As I stepped inside my dad started shouting my name.
"Mikala! My dad yelled from the basement, "Come down here and help me with these boxes.
"Sure dad" I yelled from the top of the steps. Oh did I mention we just moved here a week ago, and we're still not unpacked. We live in a normal house, have normal neighbors, I go to a normal school, and we lead normal lives in a normal town except for the ghost thing. I just hope no one can figure out my secret that I abandoned years ago.
