Lizzie and William had never been happier. They had spent their honeymoon in Pemberly and no one was allowed into the house. They had spent their days in one of three places: the library, the billiards room, or their bedroom. She had thoroughly become Mrs. Darcy, and had enjoyed ever kiss and touch that had made her that.

But William had to attend to his work now, so she was left to her own devices. After she had arranged the meals and staffing problems and all other wifely duties, she would sit in the library and read, waiting for the evening post.

When the post came tonight, she had never been so happy to receive news in her life. William was coming home tomorrow.

"The letter must have been delayed." She said to herself. Yes, here is the date. She rushed to tell Mrs. Reynolds, and in her haste, neglected the other personal letter. Upon her return to the library, she opened it and nearly collapsed under the weight of the news.

Dear Lizzie,

I am a quite a loss as what to do. My dear Wickham has left without a word and I have no idea as to were he might be. As you have many servants to do your work for you and I can only afford a cook, you must take it upon yourself to find him for me. As your husband has found him before, it should not be too difficult a is of upmost importance that you find him, as I have still yet to tell him our lovely news. You shall be the first to know that I am with child. I do hope it is a boy to grow to be as charming and as handsome as his father.

I will be joining you at the end of the week to see how your progress is. I am sure that you will welcome him into your home, as you will do so for me. After all, I am to be a mother, and you are not.

Yours affectionately,

Mrs. Lydia Wickham

"Oh, Lydia. How could you be so foolish?" She sighed and put the letter with all the others that she had received from her sisters in a special drawer if her desk.

She retired for the evening and when she woke up the next morning, she practically ran around her room getting ready. Today was the day William was coming home.
