The Prophecy
Molly was seventeen when it happened. Professor Trelawney they new Divination professor at Hogwarts had walked up to Molly during the middle of class, and looked down at her gravely, requesting to speak with the girl after class. Molly having noticed that the professor had looked pointedly at her stomach, was more confused than anything. She had no idea she was pregnant.
Professor, what is it?" She asked, clutching her books tightly to her chest as she moved out of the way for her fellow classmates to pass her. When the room emptied out Trelawney, without revealing to Molly that she was pregnant, explained to the girl a prophesy that she had the previous evening when having tea with the Headmaster and Professor McGonagall. Dumbledore, ignoring McGonagall's eye rolling and protests, wrote down every word that had passed Trelawney's lips, allowing her to recount it to Molly.
And on that night, you will lose one of the two you hold most dear." That evening was the first night she had a nightmare about the prophecy. It was Arthur being bitten by a deadly snake near the Department of Mysteries, she did not remember the dream the next morning.
ill was conceived seven months later, and she began to have nightmares again, this time of her new born son being transformed into a werewolf.
Arthur, wanting to comfort his wife, had a village clock-smith create a clock for her. This clock was presented to Molly on their first year Anniversary. It had two hands, one with Bill's name on it, the other with Arthur's. He had enchanted it to show where they were at all times.
As the others were born, hands were added to the clock. When something happened to one of her children, Molly had always had a dream about it before hand, but would never remember it the next day. When Ginny had almost passed away in her first year, Molly was sure that it was over, that Trelawny's prophecy had surely been fulfilled. Unfortunately, it wasn't until Fred's death that the prophecy been truly fulfilled.
"And on that night, you will lose one of the two you hold most dear."
