Moonlight becomes him. He's heard that line said many times in sappy movies his mother adores over the years, but never has Clark Kent actually believed or really even understood the line until he sees his own love on a special night. His breath is stolen while his heartbeat quickens as Lex approaches, moonbeams bathing his bald head with silver and seeming to cause the rose he holds to turn silver as well. Clark manages a smile as their hands touch and he accepts the rose, and his lover as he is as well. Tonight was going to be a magical night, and he already knew that it would be the first of many more to come.
