Chapter One

I slowly munched on my cheerios, they swirled in the bowl, following my spoon. The milk had made the cereal soggy even as I ate it. Across the table Horace slobbered, and dumped his cereal down his throat, he was on his third bowl already! Sometimes I wondered if he had infinite space down there. It could be possible though, Horace was huge, he was six foot four, his muscles rippled just as he ate. He's blond hair flew, as his blue eyes glared at me stab at my food.

"You have to eat Will." Alice said sweetly to my right. I shyly looked up at her beautiful form, her kind face swelled as she smiled and nodded toward my bowl, inadvertently showing off her perfect, long black hair.

"Shut up Alice, why don't you make yourself useful and get out the milk!" Horace snarled at her. He hated it when Alice was nice to me, Horace had a crush on Alice, and everyone knew it. Alice got up slowly, and walked to the fridge. As she walked, her perfect figure was impossible to ignore. Her hips swayed with the rhythm of her walk, it was mesmerizing.

"Just a little lower Alice, I put the milk at the bottom," Alice bent over, her tight jeans stretching. I was afraid her butt might bust out. Both of us grinned, Horace did it openly, but I hid mine.

"It's not there Horace," Alice said, annoyed.

"Of course it's not," Jenny walked out shaking her head, her short red hair flipping over her eyes. She had a slightly 'plump', as she says, figure. She wasn't big, she just wasn't small, she was a cook. She walked to the fridge, grabbed the milk and slammed it on the table in front of Horace. He grinned, it was a usual morning so far, but I knew that was about to change.

Today is the first day of our Pre-Apprenticing. Pre-Apprenticing is a sequence of four weeks where we do whatever we want in a training area, and 10 judges decide what our apprenticeship will be. There are tons of apprenticeships, and I barely even know one percent of them, but I know that I want to be a ranger. I don't actually know what they do, but I know that they are super cool.

"Will, let's go, we don't want to be late," Jenny's voice shocked me out of my daydream. We are suppose to meet all the other groups (2 boys, 2 girls) in the courtroom at 9 o'clock sharp, and it was 8: 58.

"Okay, I'm-m coming," I stuttered. We were grouped inside our groups, it was Jenny and me, and Horace and Alice. I followed Jenny out the door quickly. We walked quickly, and when I looked back, Horace and Alice were running, catching up to us. We made it to the courtroom at the same time.

"Okay everyone, it's 9 o'clock, I hope everyone's ready." The section 8 director said through his microphone. He motioned for the doors to be closed. I looked up at the high wood ceiling, and my eyes moved to the screen with the lead director's face on it.
