Mistake
Rose stood in front of Ron and Hermione, her entire family stood behind them quietly as they all awaited the news she was about to give them. Rose was nervous. She knew that her father never approved of Scorpius, in fact, he more than once kicked the boy out of the house. Her mother, though she may be shocked, would completely support her daughters decision, and she was worried none about Hugo, he absolutely adored Scorpius.
Rose took a deep breath and looked her father in the eye. "Mum, Dad," she looked around and smiled at the family behind her parents, "Everyone. Scorpius and I are engaged. We are going to be married."
Hermione squealed, and hugged her daughter tightly, "congratulations!" One by one her family members came up to her, some crying (like Hermione), others cheering and hugging her tightly, everyone was happy for Rose. Although more than a couple of the older relatives might not have approved completely of Rose marrying a Malfoy, they could see she was happy and wished her the best, that is, all but one of them.
Rose stood in front of her father, "Daddy?" She asked meekly, putting her hand on his arm.
"You are making a horrible mistake," Ron whispered.
"Ronald!" Hermione chastised, slapping him over the head. "How could you say something like that?"
"Daddy... what?" Rose began to panic, and shook her head. "Daddy, no... it isn't a mistake. I love him. Me and Scorpius are getting married."
Ron bit his lip as a tear fell down his cheek, and he shook his head before storming out of the room.
"Daddy!"
Ron did not speak to anyone until the day of Rose's wedding. It was then, that he gave Scorpius and Rose his blessing.
