HI! If any of you are wondering what I'm doing putting out a new story with one that still needs finished, I have absolutely no idea. This poem had just been BOUNCING AROURD INSIDE MY HEAD for the past couple of days, and I feel like I haven't been able to write properly because of it. It is my first fanfiction poem, so please be nice. This is probably where I'll put the random Eragon-based poems that pop into my head, most of which will probably either be about Murtagh/Nasuada or Eragon/Ayra. BTW, the stanzas are separated by the lines, since I couldn't think of a better way to make sure they don't run together.

What a despicable creature I am

Forever bound to the sky

In forced servitude.

We battle and our forces ram

Although it almost kills me

I wish it wasn't so.

Fate has cruel intentions

To allow us to meet

And our love to blossom.

All it does is raise the tensions

When we meet again

For our love was never meant to be.

Both of Royal birth

and Royal upbringings

Yours was by far, the happier, it seems.

Now this war won't end until one of us returns to the earth.

Opposite sides,

Fire and powder, we collide again.

What we have can only bring tears.

I'm finding it hard to give up, though,

But the longer we hold on, the deeper it cuts.

I can fight swords or spears,

But I can't fight

Our hearts' desires.

Everyone is trying to tear us apart.

Murtagh and Nasuada, it seems

were just not meant to be,

But as with all matters of the heart

Logic means nothing

And love trumps all.

We will find a way,

We'll make it work,

We will, somehow.

Forever by your side, I wish I could stay

But, alas he calls for me

And I must bid you good by with uttermost sorrow.
