She choose him. He couldn't believe it. He honestly, deep down in his soul couldn't believe that she choose him. Not just choose, but married. She married him. He bared his soul to her, finally confessing feelings that he had bottled up and locked away long ago. He had let it all out, and he thought she did too. She loved him, not him. Hell, she shouted it for the all of the gods to hear.
"Kara Thrace loves Lee Adama."
He heard it. It was real. He knows it. Yet…
Yet here he is. Staring at fragments that used to be his heart leading straight to her. To her and him. Her husband. Husband.
He couldn't believe that she was married. This wasn't how it was supposed to go. After last night, he thought that their epic love story would finally have a happy ending. No more pining or bloodshed or tears. Just love and happiness and laughter.
Gods he was a fool.
He honestly believed that after their late night declarations, everything would change for them. He would divorce his wife and finally, finally be with her.

So he kissed his wife and they both pretended that she was the love of his life.
