She had always loved his hands
Long, muscular and slender
Calloused so slightly and yet, the tips were soft and smooth
She used to dream that those big strong hands would protect her from all of her fears
For they seemed so controlled
So gentle were they when they brushed against the contours of her face
So strong when they pulled her from harm's way
But now she dreams of other tasks those hands can accomplish
Such as tracing slowly the swell of her hips
Or cupping gently her developed breasts and stroking them tenderly with his long fingers
She no longer envisions only his hands
In her mind's eye she sees his lips next to her ear
She feels his hot breath upon her skin
Hears his deep voice bouncing off of her eardrums
Whispering things forbidden between them
His kisses are soft and yet they demand all of her attention
They trail down her neck and to her breast
His tongue flicks out playfully attempting to see if she really is playing attention
But the dreams never stop here
Never do they stop here
Deeper does she fall into the pit of her imagination
Until her heart races as if it were real
Her breath catches in her throat
And her eyes dilate
She is enslaved to her own foolish fantasies
And the bonds only become tighter
And when they get to a breaking point
They cut through her skin and bone
And force her heart and mind back into reality
Only then does she realize that she is here
And he is next to her and yet not near her at all
He turns and smiles at her for a mere moment
Her eyes dart uneasily around the room
Trying to forget those feelings she harbored for him
But she can only ignore him for so long
When those hands she loves so much
Reach toward her face and brush an eyelash away
They linger for a moment
And she thinks it might be her mind playing tricks
And she might never know
Because her eyes can no longer catch his
And she's not sure if she wants them to
Because now she is scared of what she might see
