"A puppy?" Ella asked and she looked at the excited, brown, puppy in her husband's arms. He was licking his face and wagging his tail excitedly.

Kit laughed and pulled his face away from the puppy's pink tongue. "Why not? I found him wandering the streets," he said and pet the puppy's head.

"You mean you found her wandering the streets," Ella said with a small giggle.

Kit looked down at the puppy and then looked back to Ella. "Do you mean to tell me that Sir Charm is actually Lady Charm?"

"Sir Charm?" Ella laughed. "Is that what you named her?"

Kit bit his lip and scratched the puppy's ears. "Yeah…I think a new name is order," he said.

Ella smiled and held her arms out for the puppy.

Kit handed her over and the puppy yipped excitedly and licked Ella's face which made her giggled. "You are very energetic aren't you? But quite the little charmer. I can see where you got Sir Charm from," she said. "Why don't we take away the 'Sir' and simply call her Charm?"

Kit smiled and nodded. "I like that," he said.

Ella giggled and handed Charm back to Kit. "Alright Mister Kit, you wish for a puppy, then you have her. But you have to take care of her," she said and placed her hands on her hips.

"I'm the King of the Kingdom, Ella, I think I can take care of a puppy," he said with a grin.

"Charm! No! Come back!"

Kit ran after the puppy who was racing down the hallways with one of his shoes in her mouth. She ran quickly, thinking it was simply a game she was playing with the King.

Ella was reading in the library when she heard the commotion coming from outside. She wrinkled her eyebrow with confusion and she put the book down and rushed over to the door. She got there in time to see Charm race down the hallway. She blinked a few times in surprise then saw Kit come running around the corner. He had one shoe on and he stopped and tried to catch his breath.

Ella smiled and crossed her arms.

"Okay…okay, you were right…puppies are a lot of work," he said.

Ella giggled. "Alright, I'll help you, but we're going to need some supplies," she said.

Kit and Ella peeked from around the corner and saw Charm happily chewing on Kit's shoe, tearing a hold right where the toe would be.

"Alright, do you have the chicken leg?" Ella whispered to him.

Kit nodded and handed it to her. Ella smiled and peeked back around the corner. She leaned forward and placed the chicken leg in the middle of the hallway.

She looked back at Kit.

"Ready?" she mouthed.

Kit nodded and stuck his fingers in his mouth and gave a sharp whistle.

Charm's ears perked up and she looked over and spotted the chicken leg. She began to pant excitedly and she abandoned the shoe and ran towards the treat.

"Gotcha!" Kit yelled and lunged for Charm, but the puppy was much too quick. She had grabbed the chicken leg and she ran off.

Ella had tried to reach for her too, but was suddenly tangled up in Kit. She laughed and he did too. "You had to pick that one didn't you?" she asked Kit with a smile.

"Yes I did," he said and tucked a strand of her hair behind her ear and kissed her.

Charm suddenly rushed back over to them and she barked and yipped and licked their faces. Kit and Ella laughed and held her in their arms.

"Alright Charm, no more chewing shoes," Ella said sternly.

Charm tilted her head to the side before she barked and licked Ella's face again. She laughed and wiped the slobber off. "I'm serious," she laughed. "There will be none of that in this Kingdom…understand?"

Charm wagged her tail and barked again.

Kit smiled and scratched behind her ears. "Good girl," he said. Then he kissed Ella's cheek and the three of them decided to take a walk in the gardens.
