chapter one
Once upon a tim, when the moon was full as it shone over the grassy fileds which, even in moonlight, showed the beauty of the yellow flowers that danced in the cool night breeze, a young child, about four, wandered through the fields looking for her puppy. Her puppy's fur was the same color as the girl's hair; raven black. Many people, because of her hair, refered to her as the raven princess, for she is the only member of the royal family to have raven hair exept for her mother, but no one wants to remember the queen. She looked alot like the queen, the little girl. The only differnece between the girl and her mother was the girl's unstoppable spirit while her mother hadn't spirit at all.
"Darkness!" the girl called her puppy's name. "Oh, Darkness! This isn't funny! Daddy will have a fit if he sees that we're gone!" The puppy barked and the girl followed. All the way down to the brooke, over the brigde, and into town, she followed that dog. She followed it all the way past the butchery and the bakery, past the black smith's and the old widow's cottage, and past the hayfields and windmills until she came to a large, swirling, green vortex that amazed the child. She walked towards it, eyes wide, and reached out to touch it.
Her hand went straight throught it, but when she tried to pull it back, something pulled her through. She came through the other side of the portal and found herself in an empty place. There was no gravity and no sun. There were floating doors everywhere she looked. The sky was green and purple The girl viewed it as a lava lamp. The place had a certain smell to it that just didn't seem right.
The girl glided forward, eager to explore as most children are, but when she touched the knob of the blue door in front of her, something clonked her on the head and she lodt conscienceness.
