Chapter 1 ~ The Evil King
Seven years ago I ventured to the Spirit Temple to try and defeat Ganondorf, he had gone too far and I had decided to take matters into my own hands by stealing the Silver Gaulents and use them to venture deeper into the temple so as to reach Ganondorf's hideout. I was soon confronted with my first obstacle in the entrance hall where there was a hole in the wall to the next room. It was too small for me to crawl through and it really frustrating to have my plans ruined so soon. As I stood there trying to figure out what to do, he came…

Cruel laughter could be heard as a man clad in green fell to his knees, there was a clatter of metal as his sword hit the ground. "NOOOO! LINK!" A women in a royal gown ran over to where he lay. Link closed his eyes and his heart beat stopped, "No Link! You can't die! We need you! The whole kingdom needs you! Link?! Can you hear me?! LINK!"
Another man stepped out of the shadows, he had eyes full of greed and held a blood stained sword, "It's too late Princess Zelda! Your precious hero is dead, killed by my hand! (A/N One of my friends thought that I should change that phrase to "killed by my handy dandy sword!") Now no one stands in my way! THE ULTIMATE POWER IS MINE!"
"Over my dead body!" she said in a crude voice as she picked up Link's sword which she raised skyward. "KING GANONDORF OF THE GERUDO, I WILL NOT ALLOW YOU TO FULFIL YOUR EVIL WISHES!" And then she charged forward.

Dark clouds swirled around a large statue of a woman with angle wings and long flowing robes, she had a kind face and she seemed to be holding a platform. A bright light shone and three triangles appeared above the platform. They simply hovered, turning aimlessly until they formed a larger triangle. The dark clouds then came down and engulfed the triangles and the statue until two golden lights shot to the sky in different directions. As this happened, the clouds flashed gold and retreated. There was one triangle left and then it flew closer, closer until…
Nabooru's golden eyes flew open and she sat bolt upright. What happened? she thought, She was in her sleeping quarters and could see the sun rising from her window. She swung her legs off the bed and got ready for the long day ahead of her. She got dressed in her usual attire, a tube top with blue and red square patterns as well as white bellowing pants (A/N Kind of like princess Jasmine's clothes from "Aladdin" the Disney movie, if you are still confused then search for pictures of Nabooru on Google Images). She wore white slip-on shoes that slightly curled at the toe and had her scarlet hair tied into a high ponytail with a precious gem. She applied her traditional white lipstick and eye shadow and fastened a golden belt around her waist.
She still had some time left before breakfast so she sat on her bed and thought about her dream. The statue she recognised as Hylia, the Goddess of Time. Many looked down upon her as the rival of the Sand Goddess. The three triangles? They must have been the all-powerful Triforce. And there was of course the dark, swirling clouds representing, Ganondorf, she thought with disgust.
Ruler of the Gerudo due to being the only man born in a hundred years, he was a thief just like Nabooru except he was a ruthless killer, claiming many innocent lives to fulfil his evil wishes. Nabooru recently found out that he sought to seize the Triforce seven years ago, breaking into the sacred realm by manipulating Princess Zelda and Link, the Hero of Time into opening the Door of Time for him. The Temple of Time had sealed away Link for seven years during which Ganondorf touched the Triforce and wished for the entire kingdom of Hyrule to be under his rule. After doing so this caused two things to happen, the first was that Hyrule became a dark place the moment he laid his greedy hands upon the Triforce, the second was caused by Ganondorf's evil heart being unbalanced, he was only interested in power to be gained and therefore was only granted the Triforce of power. The other two pieces were bestowed upon Link (courage) and Zelda (wisdom).
But if Link, Zelda and Ganondorf all possess a piece of the Triforce, why is there a part of it left? she wondered, she remembered the two parts of the Triforce that left and how the clouds flashed gold and retreated, but why? She eventually got frustrated with herself because she could not tell what it meant.
There was a knock on the door and voice said, "Master Nabooru, breakfast is being served."
"Don't worry about me, I'm not hungry." She replied.
"Are you sure Master? Remember, you're meant to teach the apprentice guards today."
"Yes I know, I'll be down soon."
"Alright, if you say so Master Nabooru." said the guard.
As she went down the stairs, the guard thought about how Nabooru had changed seven years ago and how she had changed recently. She used to be so calm and collected but when she returned from the Spirit Temple so long ago, she had become a short tempered, violent servant of King Ganondorf, neglecting her duties as leader of the Gerudo people (Second only to Ganondorf). During that time the guard had noticed something wrong with Nabooru's eyes, they seemed empty and like something was trapped inside trying to escape. Then, about a week ago, she changed again and was the same as she was seven years ago except she seemed bothered by something. Ever since then the guard had been watching Nabooru carefully and trying to figure out what was going on because her intuition was telling her that something big was going to happen and Nabooru knew what.

Young girls of about thirteen were lined up wearing their new advanced level guard uniforms of purple and they were chattering excitedly. Nabooru walked in to the training ground accompanied by two Gerudo guards dressed in red. (A/N These guards have graduated and are fully qualified) She stood in front of the teenagers who became silent and bowed before her on one knee.
"So," Nabooru began, "As you already know, I will be teaching you some techniques in your advanced level classes in sword training."
She started pacing along the line of girls, "You have done quite well to make it this far, you have mastered many attacks, both defensive and offensive, which you can use to defeat minor enemies. However, you may face many more powerful opponents and may even have need to fight with your own people," Nabooru almost cringed at the thought but just managed to keep a straight face, "To defeat these enemies, you must be able to read their movements accurately, predicting their actions and strategies. This is the path of survival and success, only you can choose to follow it and rein victorious."
Nabooru produced a ribbon from her wrist and tied it over her eyes, "Lesson one, using all senses." Then she picked up a sword and placed it on the ground behind her, "Your task is to retrieve the sword without me stopping you." There was a murmur of confusion from the girls until one plucked up the courage to charge forward really fast but Nabooru tripped her over with one leg. The girl ran back to the line and another challenger leapt forth but ended up like the previous student.
"You're too loud, I can hear you coming!" said Nabooru, "You must sneak up on me in a way that none of my senses other that sight will detect." She positioned herself, "Let's try again, I'm ready."
A student tip-toed behind Nabooru, after she succeeded in passing her, she let out a sigh of relief, an action that lead to her being face down on the floor. "Don't let your guard down," said Nabooru, "The smallest noise can give you away."
Then it finally happened, a girl had snuck passed Nabooru and picked up the sword. Nabooru turned her head so that it was facing where the girl was standing. Not knowing what else to do, she took off both her shoes which she threw at a wall and ran in the opposite direction, then she heard a whooshing sound above her and was suddenly pinned to the ground by Nabooru with the sword, "Impressive!" she said smiling, "I almost fell for your little trick."
Then she helped her up and took off her blind fold. "Everyone, I hope you've been watching this!" she pointed at the shoes. (Causing its owner to blush with embarrassment and retrieve them) "She took advantage of my visibility being gone and having to rely on my other senses by using a distraction so that I may react to it instead of chasing her and it almost worked! But unfortunately it was expected and that was her downfall." She turned to the girl who had just returned to her place in line, "Congratulations, you will make a fine guard. Maybe someday you will even surpass me!" The girl smiled, "Thank-you so much Master Nabooru!"

Princess Zelda was staring out of her window at the destroyed city that was once known as Castle Town, she saw all the ruined shops and homes, and then she looked at her room. It was decorated with expensive rugs and tapestries with a crystal chandelier hanging from the ceiling. This had been her room seven years ago, she had always hated it and thought about how the money spent on this luxury could have been used for more worthy causes, such as providing the Gerudo with their basic needs so they may not need to resort to theft in order to survive. She thought about how she had suggested this to her father…
Flashback
"No Zelda! I cannot allow that! Don't you know the trouble they have caused! Now if you will excuse me, I have a thief to deal with!"
"But father! You don't understand! She's only a child! She's just trying to stay alive! PLEASE DON'T KILL HER!"
"Zelda, if someone breaks the law then they must be punished! Our kingdom would be as it had been ten years ago! Is that what you want?!" (A/N He is referring to the war that the Great Deku Tree Scrub said took the lives of Link's parents.)
"No! That's not what I..."
"THEN WHAT DO MEAN! YOU'RE TOO NAÏVE TO UNDERSTAND!"
I turned around and ran away to the gardens, Impa found me there crying, she always understands…
A muscular woman with silver hair and red eyes stood before a little girl with tears streaming down her cheeks. She looked up at her and Impa smiled, "C'mon little princess, we should go back inside, you'll catch a cold if you stay out here any longer!"
Zelda did not move, instead she asked, "Impa, can you play that song for me?" As she said this, she held out a blue ocarina with the Triforce printed on it, (A/N Anything familiar? I bet you're grinning right now Mum, If you're reading this!) Impa took the ocarina, sat down beside her and started to play a gentle melody, it was peaceful and southing. When Impa had finished the song, Zelda was fast asleep on her lap and Impa looked upon her with what one might call a mother's love. With extreme care, she picked her up and carried her to her bed where she tucked her in and blew out all the candles in the room before whispering, "Goodnight, little princess."

Zelda's daydream was interrupted by a large man with blood red hair and cold eyes bursting into the room. His face was rigid with anger, "WHY DIDN'T IT WORK! WHY HAS THE TRIFORCE ONCE AGAIN SEPARATED! TELL ME OR YOU WILL PAY!"
Zelda stared at him with such hatred in her eyes, "Why should I? You have nothing to threaten against me except my life and that to me is a far price to pay if it means that the Triforce never falls into your hands!"
Ganondorf laughed, "Nothing to use against you, eh?!" he smirked, "Maybe you should see my latest capture!"
Zelda felt a chill down her spine, "You don't mean…"
"Yes little princess, I'm sure she will be very pleased to see you!"
†The Price of Sins†
Nabooru looked at the statue of the Sand Goddess in the Spirit Temple, she was the guardian of her people and the source of life for the Gerudo, she had the power to bestow pregnancy upon the women of the desert because of there being only one man alive every hundred years.
Nabooru was here to help prepare for the annual ceremony where ten women are selected to become pregnant. Nabooru's role is to pray to the Sand Goddess along with the selected females for the future of their race.
"Master Nabooru? Are you going to ask for an heir this year?"
Nabooru turned around to see who had said that, Ugh, it's that guard again! she thought when she saw her familiar face, it's like she follows me where ever I go!
"No, not this year. I don't feel ready for such a big responsibility yet." she replied.
The guard thought about her answer, she did already have plenty of commitments to her people but she would have had more if her birth and the Great Ganondorf's death were timed as they should have been. In a way, you could say that Nabooru was meant to be the leader at this time but her authority is overridden by Ganondorf's. She is another of a kind that is only born every hundred years, destined to rule the Gerudo when the King was not yet born. The expected lifespan for all the Gerudo was around fifty years and this should not have been an exception for the King but Ganondorf had been alive for about eighty years and this meant that Nabooru was not able to claim her throne.
The guard looked out the window and saw the Sun sinking behind the sand dunes, "Master Nabooru, we should go back to the fortress, it's getting late."
"Alright." She said to the guard. She looked up at the statue and muttered, "I'll be paying you a visit tomorrow your Grace." before turning around to leave the temple.
I will be back for answers…
