A/N So I typed this up as soon as I could. I figured all my regular readers deserved something for being so patient with me. I've had this written for a while, but I was never really happy with it. I'm still not fully, but there isn't anything else I can do. I like it too much to change, but hate it enough to feel like I have to. It's time to get it typed and put up. I actually wrote it back in April. Anyway, this is an Elena and Elijah pairing. I really loved them together, until he saved Klaus, there was something about them. I don't even know what it was. This is kinda out of character for them both, but I hope you guys like it. Please review for this one, because I don't know if this works well, as I said. And could you tell me if I put this under the right genre?

Elijah's POV
How is she so perfect? I asked myself as I sat down on a chair in the Salvatore's house. I was watching her, as I had been doing so often lately. She was graceful and beautiful. I could smell her scent. The most beautiful smell I've ever been lucky enough to be in the vicinity of. Her heartbeat is like thunder to my ears, and it is one of the most beautiful sounds I have ever heard in all my years, second only to her voice.
She glanced over at me and noticed my staring. "What?" She asked
"You two are identical." I said to mask what was really going through my head.
"Perceptive," She mumbled, returning to the book she'd been going through.
"There is need to be sarcastic." I chastened, although I was kin of amused at her guts. Most people would never think of talking back to me. Katherine surely wouldn't. It was refreshing.
I smirked and continued my staring. "Elijah, seriously, what gives?" She said "Don't you have anything productive to do, other than creeping me out?" She asked and I could tell by her tone that she was actually expecting an answer.
"If you were focused on your work, Elena, you wouldn't notice my staring." I said keeping my eyes locked on hers.
She scoffed and stood up to walk towards me.
"You have been acting strange for days Elijah, and now, I want to know why." She said coming to a stop in front of the chair I was sitting in. I stood up and looked down at her. You'd think I'd be better at hiding my emotions. I was slightly embarrassed to find that I was not.
"No reason." I told her, once again astounded by her guts. I guess she really isn't afraid of dying.
"Bull" She said
I smiled and pushed a strand of her hair behind her ear, surprising her. I slowly lowered my head and connected my lips to hers. She held still for a moment, then she started to respond. I took a moment to be thankful the Salvatore brothers were out. After a few minutes I pulled back.
"No reason." I repeated as I sat back down.
She went back over to her seat.
"What was that?" She asked
"Nothing, Elena." I said, and she drew her brows together, looking confused.
"I'm a fool." I said, "forget about it." I told her, and like compulsion, although it wasn't, she shrugged and said, "Okay."
How could she do that? I asked myself, until I realized the only thing she did was learn how to hide her emotions better than an original.
"I really am a fool." I muttered under my breath.
A/N So, if you didn't like it, feel absolutely free to say that. And I would love some constructive criticism, or whatever. Feel free to speak your mind, but like I said, I know this was OOC but that was just how it worked. Please review!
