A Bad Name

He'd only stepped in the diner for a quick snack, so wasn't happy when someone cut in line. "Bitch," he muttered, recognizing her as the stuck-up girl from high school.
"Jerk," came the immediate response.
Neither heard the dual twang of a bow in quick succession-nor felt the impact of an arrow as it pierced their heart-but the effect was both immediate and devastating.
I'd never noticed she was so attractive, thought John.
Hmm, he's kinda cute, maybe he's not so bad, Mary thought.
"Buy you a coffee?"
"Make it pie and you've got a deal," smiled Mary.
