This is my version on what I'd make happen as the next step in 'The Host'.
I'm more the happy to hear your views on my written work and i hope most of you won't be displeased.
I didn't know when I'd next come across Burns Living Flower or the humans he stood by.
This, for me, was sad news. I'd enjoyed my small time talking to Burns.
He was interesting. Somewhat insightful even. It was strange to hear first hand what the Fire World had been like.
He told me of a few exciting stories about the Fire World. Though, no matter how exciting, I still felt a tiny ping of fare. But that was hidden behind a smile that wasn't completely faked.
He didn't talk much of himself. Once he'd asked of how I got my name he was more involved in asking me questions. The Fire World had been his only home other then Earth.
Burns was over joyed to hear about Sunny.
"There's two of us under your roof?" He'd asked me in awe.
It felt all to soon when I had to say my goodbyes to Burns.
"I hope we meet again." I said honestly. "Its good to have friends in a war."
"That it is." He smiled. "Oh, here. I want you to have these."
Burns pulled out a medium sized box from his shoulder bag, and handing it over to me.
I peered inside. "Eye contacts?" Why would I need eye contacts?
"For your human friends. The contacts give a silver rim just like ours. You can't tell the difference. Sadly, I wasn't prepared in meeting you so there are only 27 sets of contacts in the box. If you keep them secrete and use them only when needed, they should last you awhile. Each set can be re-used, but don't let two humans use the same ones. That could lead to infection."
I thanked Burns with a large hug before saying goodbye.
When we returned home everyone was in the kitchen eating their breakfast.
As soon as I walked around the corner Jamie immediately stopped eating his bread roll and ran towards me.
"You're back!" He exclaimed as he hugged me tightly.
Kyle had finished the extension on Walters bedroom by the time we got back and him and Sunny now shared it together.
