Ivory Tower

By SMYGO4EVA

There are two gates of sleep. One is of horn, easy passage for the shades of truth; the other, of gleaming white ivory, permits false dreams to ascend to the upper air. (Aeneid VI.893-896)

Practical, known through the subculture of the world where intellectuals engage in pursuits that are separated from the concerns of everyday life. To get away from harsh reality and live in the creation you have become. Idealistic, you might say, but causing some responsibilities to become broken promises. Through two siblings named Joseph and Serenity Wheeler, the imagination takes them away from the abrupt destruction of their childhood.

They became separated in the days of adolescence, forced apart by the indecisive autocracy of their parents, but before long, they missed each other. After a few years, they reunited during the outbreak of a popular duelist tournament, testing their endurance in psychological, mental and physical prowess as brother and sister. Negative effects strike when the two siblings are so deeply drawn into their fields of study that they can't find themselves outside their own reality. So far, one thought they were going to lose the other in the maw of Death itself, but one cannot be sure of when they would fall from their newborn reality and crumble into life once again.
