Women's rights took huge turns after the year 1840 when women were entitled to more like divorces, jobs, schooling, money and child custody Women start becoming consumers and being talking to each other and as a result they start to learn about politics and social movements that lead to suffrage Some women do not care about voting since they are working and taking care of children all day In 1857, the National Union Women's Suffrage Socities came about and peacefully fought for the women's right to vote Some women start to favor giving up non-violent protesting strategies and want to take up militant tactics Suffragettes become portrayed as women who unsuccessful in their love lives and have never been kissed and don't have husbands By 1914 and World War I most of the anti-suffrage socities are done By the beginning of World War I most of the women have stopped protesting for votes to let the government worry about the war and show men how capable they can be during the war

World War I becomes a war of attrition which means no side will win, but one will run out of stuff or people first It is a total war which means that everyone, literally everyone, must be a part of the war effort down to the littlest things like making dinner Schlieffen Plan is the German plan to take over Paris in 1914 and then deal with Russia so that they can avoid a two sided war since France and Russia would fight Germany from East and West Eastern front is the Russian side and is the war of mobility Atlantic is where Britain blockades Germany where U-boat strikes are prevalant Western front is where trench warfare is seen Middle East and Africa front is the German East Africa campaign, Gallipoli landings and Arab revolts plus the Armenian genocide
