For Whom the North Wind Blows
Drabble Cannon: The Mummy/The Mummy Returns
Disclaimer: I don't own the movie, just this little tidbit. (I got the title from a documentary on the past that said the princess was so beautiful she was often described as for who the North Wind blew.)
………………
Evelyn looked over the yard of her estate and smiled happily. The mummy of Imhotep was dead forever, and as Nefertiri, she had personal stock in that fact. Her son was playing in the yard with her brother, a kid in his own right, Jonathan. She loved him very much but sometimes she wished he would take a little responsibility for himself.
Relaxing in the warmth of the sun on her back, she leaned against the fence on the porch and closed her eyes, trying to memorize the moment.
A body came up beside her, tall and the breath on her neck made her skin pop up with goosbumps. The gentle wind in her face had her eyes open and she looked up into the eyes of her husband.
"What's all this?" she asked, speaking of the bottle of wine and flowers promising a good night.
"It's a good night, our anniversary love."
"I was wondering where you were all day."
He kissed her neck instead of replying. "I love you Evelyn"
"I love you Mr. O'Connell." The wind changed direction as the ascendant of the great princess Nefertiri retired with her husband. As her husband took her around the dance floor first, he couldn't help but think that if it wasn't for her he would be dead or still rotting in prison. After a thousand-plus years, she was still for whom the North Wind blows… She was his reason and had given him a son.
END.
