Chapter One

Karen runs up to Lucas that lies on the hospital bed

"Lucas!" Her eyes are filled with tears. She hugs him so hard it felt as if he would suffocate

"Mom" His eyes shone of delight

Karen looked chocked

"You recognise me?" Tears ran down her cheeks

Suddenly Lucas realised what was happening I remember her, but… (The doctor told me I wouldn't remember anything from my past, not even my mother or my friends.)

"Y… Yes" He was so confused but still it felt like he never had been happier (Maybe the doctors are wrong, maybe I will remember everything! But…But I don't remember anything. Maybe that's just because of the accident, wait accident... What happened?)

"The doctors told me that you wouldn't recognise me but you do! A miracle!" She kissed him on his forehead and holds him tight in her arms.

"Mom, what happened?" It felt like Karen's heart was breaking (He looks so sad. Don't you worry, I will do everything I can for you son.)

She looked at him for a while

"It was an accident Lucas" She stopped talking, her eyes looked so empty

"What Ma, what?" It felt like his world was disappearing

"I thought I was going to loose you, I didn't know what to do. There was nothing I could do!" Her voice sounded so frightened

"I will never leave you mom. Believe that!"

"You were on your way home from school when it happened. You got hit by a car. I got a call from the hospital telling me that you had been injured in an accident" She couldn't control herself anymore so the tears just kept coming

Lucas felt something hurt in the back of his head; he slowly moved his fingers to the place where the pain came from. (Bandage, is this why they say I can't remember anything?! But I recognise my mom! I will recognise my friends as well! I know it!)

Suddenly the door opened and there she stood, Peyton Sawyer

She looked devastated; her eyes were completely red from what seemed to be of crying for months

She slowly walked towards Lucas

"Luke"

Lucas looked at Peyton then to his mother

(What's happening? He don't want to be with me anymore?)

"Peyton I have to talk with you" Karen got up from the chair

"What's wrong? Luke talk to me please" (Why do he look at me like that, like he doesn't know me anymore)

"Who are you?" Peyton couldn't believe what she was hearing, she could only stand there and stare at him. She had never felt this terrible before in her entire life

Lucas looked at her (Is she one of my friends? Why does it seems like she is much more then that)

Peyton started crying as the day she was born, Karen gently took Peyton into her arms and slowly walked towards the door (No kid should ever have to go thru this, not Peyton! She has already been thru enough. I have to do something!)

(What have I done, she looks so miserable and it's my fault. Damn! Why did this happen, what did I do to deserve this)
