That boy. That brave, courageous boy…How he suffered. How he suffers… Nights plagued with nightmares that replay those horrific events. You've heard this tale countless times as a child, but now you've finally realized that there was something darker there. Let me point it out to you. We shall start at the beginning.
He left his homeland in search of a treasure he held near and dear. He was looking for a beloved friend, a fairy that once travelled with him. He had been searching for a long time now… in a forest that seemed to be endless.
His blue eyes drooped, still a bit tired from awaking at such an early hour. His eyes rested on the reddish-auburn fur of his faithful stead, Epona. She walked slowly through the trees.
The air was still and cool and a dense fog hid the forest floor beneath him. He wondered how long it would be until he would reach a fairy fountain or civilization. Lost in thought, he suddenly found himself in the air then finally, on the ground.
A foot flipped his unconscious body over.
"What's he got on him?" Someone asked.
Hands searched him for goods, soon finding a blue ocarina embroidered with the symbol of the Goddesses.
There were notes that hung in the air.
"Oh! What a pretty ocarina! Can I play with it skull kid?"
"No way! You might break it, Tael!" A female voice scolded.
"Aw, sis…"
Link slowly arose from the cold earth, eyeing the thieves.
There was a skull kid accompanied by two fairies, a purple one and a yellow one.
"What do you think you're doing?" He lurched forward in an attempt to pin the skull kid but to no avail.
The skull child claimed Epona as his own and led Link to, what seemed to be, another world.
