Number 010- Prologue

"Mr. Jones. Do you realize how much money you have wasted on your failed experiments?" Alfred hung his head low, knowing of his futile attempts.

"Yes sir, but I am certain this time that I will succeed. Please, just give me a chance!" The director shook his head, placing his calloused hands on his forehead.

"We have given you chances, Mr. Jones. Nine of them in fact! Why should we believe that now, you finally will use the extensive amounts of money given to you for some actual progress? I think nine chances were plenty enough to prove your worth, and you did not. So my answer is no, Jones. I simply cannot trust you." Alfred peered into his superior's violet eyes, pleading him to understand.

"Ivan- I mean sir! Trust me this time! Trust me." Ivan was surprised at the American's determination, certain that he had drained all hope from him. Intrigued by his unwavering mind, the tall Russian simply nodded with a smile hidden in his scarf.

"Alright, American. You win, but this will be the last time we will provide funds for your projects." A gleam shined in Alfred's eye.

"T-thank you sir! I promise I won't fail you this time!" Alfred tried to conceal his mile-wide grin.

"Don't be thanking me yet, Jones. Thank me when you succeed."

"Yes! Of course, sir!"

"Oh, and one thing before you leave, Mr. Jones."

"Yes sir?"

"What is the name of your proposal?" Alfred glanced at Ivan and smiled at him.

"His name is Number 10, Arthur."
