I can't believe it! Ky Alero gave me his notebook so that I so I don't fail the quiz tomorrow!
I sat down next to Juniper.
She said,"What's up with you, Bella?"
"Uh, you know, um, first days of school, summer is just over."
"Well, you've been staring at that new kid, Kyle, or whatever."
"His name is Ky!"
"Well, sorry. This Ky-"
"I wonder why I haven't seen him anywhere but in English class."
"Interrupt-"
"I mean we could be in different grades, but I don't think he's the type of guy who would get held back, but you never-"
"Bella! Stop it, it's just some guy. Ok?"
"Sorry, Juniper, just I can't get him off my mind."
"Bella, you better forget about him, unless you want to fail that class! You know we have a quiz tomorrow, right? It's worth almost as much as a test."
"I hate Mr. Davinchi! He gives us so much work, even at the start of the year. I'd rather think about Ky than…" I took a big bite of my peanut butter and jelly sandwich.
"Nobody likes Mr. Davinchi, but nobody has a grade as low as a D yet, except for you. If you fail you'll have to take his class again next year."
I realized I wasn't hungry, so I put my sandwich back in its bag.
I whizzed through the rest of my day, hardly hearing my teachers. Then suddenly the bell buzzed.
"Bella, want to come over tonight?" Juniper hopped over to me.
"Uhm, I need to study."
"Yeah you do! I was thinking I could study with you." Juniper looked at me, her eyes hopeful.
"Yeah, my mom is expecting me to come home after school, uh, I gotta go." I made a mad dash out of the school.
As I raced out the doors and onto the sidewalk, I ran into something, something bigger and stronger than me.
Then everything turned black...
