We Are All So Broken

A poem written by one of the survivors of the war. Not a specific character. I know that a lot of people don't read poetry I myself am guilty but it takes 30 secs. of your time and I would appereciate feedback.

We Are All So Broken

Sometimes it surprises me

How much we've changed in so short a time

A change only love or war could conceive

Merlin, we are all so broken.

We gained much, lost much

And are building much from many ruins

From the many ruins of our lives

Merlin, we are all so broken.

What doesn't kill you only makes you stronger

Or so they tell me

I don't feel stronger; I don't believe them

Merlin, we are all so broken.

I want this rush to be over

For things to go back to 'normal'

But this is the new normal

Merlin, we are all so broken.

We made it through alive

No one ever thought we would

Now all we have to do is survive the aftermath

But Merlin, we are all so broken.
