H is for Hair

Gio saw her enter Gio's Deli just like the old days. It'd been months he'd seen her.
"Hey, Giooooo—!" Betty started and stopped short as she found herself right in front of him. She bit her lip and her face turned red as her lungs almost exploded from contained laughter.
"What's with the face? Is that the way to greet your old friend?" Gio asked.
"What the hell is that?" Betty said and, grabbing him by both his arms, turned him around.
"This? It's a ponytail" he said and his hair wagged as he shook his head playfully.
"Gio! Your hair is so long!" she said. "So what's the deal? Is that your new tail?"
"You always said I was a dawg" Gio said with a chuckle.
She touched the tip of his hair and tugged it gently down.
"Mmm… I like that" Gio said and turned to face her.
She hit him on the arm and thought that Gio wasn't ever going to change.
"Ah! Come on!" he said and untied the leather band, spreading his long smooth hair over his shoulders. "Oooh! Don't tell me you don't like it."
She blushed. As tempting as his silky strands of hair was to the tip of her fingers, she really liked the rough feeling of his old spiky short hairstyle against her palm. But she wasn't going to admit it to him… at least not in a public space.
