There are only two words to describe the relationship between SSA Aaron Hotchner and SSA Emily Prentiss. Simple and complicated. It started off simple. He worked security for her mother as she went off to college. He was married and she was focused on her future. Then came complicated. She joined the BAU. He was still married and didn't trust her. She was a plant. Simple came back. She quit rather then rat on him and he showed her the trust she earned. It bounced between simple and complicated for the next couple of years. He got divorced and nearly blown up. She let him lean on her and was beaten by a man man and they both lost close friends. Then complicated took on a whole new meaning.
