"Oh my God! Percy!" someone shrieked when he opened the door to his flat. He had expected his flat to be miserably silent and empty, and blinked in shock when arms were thrown around his neck in a tight embrace. It finally registered with him who was hugging him and he wrapped his arms around her.

"Penny, have you been sitting here waiting for me?" he muttered into her hair. "I thought you had left."

"I heard you ran off to the battle at Hogwarts! I thought you were dead!" she said, pulling back and looking him over, there were tear tracks running down her face. "I'm so glad you're okay! I heard on the Wireless that someone…named Weasley had…"

Percy's face turned bitter and he stared at the floor.

"Sit," she said, gesturing to the sitting room. "And we'll talk."

He nodded and she let him over to the sofa, and sat down, Penelope gripped his hand tightly between her own hands and he took off his glasses and pinched the bridge of his nose. He felt a rush of affection for Penelope at that moment for not urging him to speak. He thought he had gotten out all of his grief the week he had spent at the Burrow with his family, but he knew he hadn't.

"Kingsley Shacklebolt is the new Minister," Penelope started calmly. "Do you think it's a good choice?"

Percy laughed shortly. "It's an excellent choice; Kingsley is an extremely capable man, extremely intelligent. He's phenomenal."

"Good, our last few Ministers haven't exactly been satisfactory…"

"No, I don't believe so."

Penelope didn't say a word, just sat there; holding Percy's hand, waiting for him to say what she knew he needed to.

"…Fred…" he started in a low voice. "Fred's…dead…"

Penny's grip on Percy's hand tensed. She put an arm around Percy's shoulders and rested her head against the crook of his neck. "Will you be okay?"

"I think so...let's just…stay like this for a while," he said tiredly.

She nodded. "I'm sorry."

"For what?"

"Leaving, I didn't really…I wanted to come back, you know," she muttered. "Just…"

"I needed to learn my lesson," Percy finished. "And I did. I picked the wrong team."

"You can say that again," she said with an ironic laugh. "So you made up with your family…?"

"Yes. I have. I'm going back there tomorrow for dinner," he said resolutely. "And probably every weekend for the rest of my life," he added, smiling despite himself. "Will you come with me- tomorrow?" he added.

"And every weekend for the rest of your life," she agreed.

He looked down at her, and she looked up at him, almost defiant. "You don't mean that…"

She leaned up and pecked him on the lips. "Don't be stupid, of course I mean it."

Percy's entire body relaxed, he shifted and kissed Penelope on the top of the head. "It's good to be home."
