A.N. Got this idea during church today. I was the only girl in a group of 5 guys, and being the oldest, it felt like I was the leader. So I thought, why not write a short story where Merlin is the only girl and makes the knights and Arthur listen to her? And so, this little one-shot was born:) Hope you enjoy! See y'all!

Their group was like a wolf pack. Arthur was the Alpha, the knights were his pack, and Merlin was the Omega. On hunts, patrols, and quests, Arthur was in charge, and every one else followed. However, there were days when Merlin took charge and became the Alpha. This happened to be one of those days.

They were out on a patrol, looking for the bandits that had been terrorizing some of the outer villages for the past few weeks. Arthur and Merlin were riding in the front with the knights following behind. Merlin was telling them a story of when she used her magic to get out of chores. "The prat here had given me so many chores that I just had to use magic to get them all done. I was lying on my bed, reading my magic book and the armor was polishing itself, when the door opened. Startled, I dropped the spell, and Gaius just launched into one of his lectures." An annoyed look passed over her face, and her friends couldn't help but chuckle. They were so engrossed with Merlin's story that they didn't hear the loud snap of branches breaking behind them.

Suddenly, a bandit jumped from a nearby tree and knocked Gwaine off his horse. "Attack!" the man yelled. A large group of men streamed from the trees. "On me!" Arthur yelled. Everyone, except for Gwaine of course, jumped off their horses and started fighting. Merlin was throwing men back with her magic, and making sure no one was hurt. More and more men ran at them, and soon they were outnumbered. Flummoxed, Arthur ordered them to keep fighting, even though it wasn't working. Merlin saw this, and decided to take matters into her own hands. Using telepathy, she called them to retreat and regroup. Then, she gave them her instructions.

"Gwaine! Elyan! Take these", she threw them several fireballs, "and climb those trees! Throw them at the men in the middle! Percival! Lancelot! Leon! Use your bolas to trip up as many as you can! Take every one we brought! Arthur! You're with me! We'll try to locate the leader. For Camelot!" They ran from behind the trees, and carried out the plan. In just a matter of minutes, the bandits were taken care of. After taking care of the bodies, they started the ride back to Camelot. "I don't know about you mates, but I think Merlin should take charge of the army." Gwaine said, and he meant it to.

As they trotted into the gates of Camelot, it wasn't Arthur leading the pack. It was Merlin, leading her boys from their victory.
