The Demons Inside

Note: I didn't plan to write this,

or put it online for this matter

but free Science class says otherwise.

She lay there screaming, nothing in my power could help her now I knew she had been taken over, I knew it was too late and I knew I was next...

"Mace!" she yelled, "help me!". She twisted on the floor in pain, gasping with every move. Her eyes were full of hatered and agony, maybe the hate was for me or maybe for the demons...they both added up.

I couldn't help her she was too far gone. Her eyes began to change colour, a dark purple. I don't know how many times I have ran from those eyes in my nightmares. Seeing them take her like that...as if they owned her. I guess now they do, my mind hissed.

Is there any point? Any hope? Any reason? We had avoided this moment for as long as we could but now it's happening. I screamed anyway...

"Lila fight them! Don't believe you've lost, they feed on negative thoughts!". A part of me (and I'm not sure how small or big that part of me was) believed my words but as for the rest...I had lost all hope. Lila was doomed I knew it for sure.

Being lost in my thoughts made me forget what was actually happening. Lila was now silent. I turned to look at her finding her previous locationg empty...

"You never helped, now look what you've done, you always did run Mace...Why not help me? Did you not love me enough? Or did you just think about saving yourself?!"

I spun on my heels. The words she said were true. I wanted to save myself but I loved her more than she could've imagined.

Lila stood behind me with a thick, sadisic, smirk, dropping pure evil into each word. She laughed, her ebony curls bouncing around her shoulders.

"Lila you don't understand, you were too far gone, even if I tried to help I would've failed". I was begging for mercy and she knew it. Smirking she began tutting. "Now that's not very positive is it? Negative little Mace" her eyes gleamed, all I could think about was her beautiful green eyes lost forever.

Then it hit me.

Negative thoughts.

I felt the fire inside me...

I collasped to the floor in agony, I was turning just like Lila had. "Oh make sure you don't think negative thoughts Mace, didn't anyone tell you that if you do that in the presence of a demon you become one?"

She was taunting...it was like a slap in the face. I closed my eyes embracing the demons inside hearing only Lila's lavander laugh.
