I Seek You In The Darkness

This is my translation of a poem my mom wrote in Russian. It's about seeking God. I hope this inspires you to spend time with Him.

I seek you in the darkness

I seek you with my soul

I seek you in the silence

Oh, answer when I call!

I see light in the distance

And walk towards the spark

And you are drawing nearer

As I walk in the dark

I seek you all around me

I want to hold your hand

I seek for you inside me

Please come and be my friend!

I'm fleeing from this clamor

I long for your embrace

I want to know your wishes

To read them in your face

Oh, give me living water

My soul, it thirsts for you

On my heart's empty spaces

Do write a word or two

Please read me and then change me

Mold me as you desire

I'm clay, please rearrange me

Refine me in the fire

And then I find I'm melting

While in your gentle hand

You place bits of eternity

Upon the table's end

And as my soul is trembling

I watch them and I weep

I'll know my only meaning

When only you I seek
