CHAPTER1

I woke up with an anticipating feeling. Hurrying, I washed up and ran out of my room to be greeted by my parents. "HAPPY BIRTHDAY! MY CHILD! Today onward you will be ten years old already!" My parents chorused. Due to the loud fussing, my eight years old younger brother woke up and started crying. Seeing my younger brother crying, my mum walked briskly toward him. While hugging my brother, my mum told me that she was glad that I have grown this big. I smiled at her shyly as i was unused to her praising me. Then, my dad appeared with my birthday present in his hands. Happiness was overflowing me as I accepted the birthday present.

With a nod from my parents, I rushed into my room and started unwrapping my present. Like a tiger pouncing on his prey, I tore the wrapping paper mercilessly away. "OH MY GOD!" I screamed loudly and crazily, just like a hysteric lady who just won a billion dollars. The present that my parents brought me is what I wanted since I was in primary one. When I was just six years old, I always annoyed my parents to buy me a diary but they refused as they think that it is not useful to me. Now, finally, after waiting patiently for four years my wish is granted and they brought me a diary! 'Oh god! I can't believe it!' I thought to myself in denial.

Holding this smooth and thin book in my arms, I started crying. Receiving such a gift was just unbelievable for me. Things that my parents thought to be useless were never given to me no matter how much I begged or cried. Now this book is in my hands,i smirked at myself thinking finally i am going to make full use of this diary.

"Haru! Go to school now! You will be late if you are not leaving this house right now!" my mother screeched. With a warning from my mum and a quick glance at the clock which is approaching 8am, I dashed to school.

"Good morning, Haru!" my classmates and friends from different classes greeted me. With a smile, i greeted them too. As I turned away from them and walked toward my seat suddenly some of the playful ones started back hugging me and said happy birthday to me. The others gave me handshake while wishing me happy birthday. Some of them even gave me birthday cards and small gift such as pen. I smiled in gratefulness and thanked them for all their gifts or thoughts. After all the commotion, the usual school life started again. Firstly, English lesson, then, Math lesson. Eventually, recess came where my friends gossiped about boys or their own home life. Then, lesson continued again and finally the end of school came. Just like this, six hours of the day just flew past and not once since morning did anyone wished me happy birthday anymore...

When I reached home, the first thing that I did was to open my diary and started writing my profile. ..
