It had been three days. He had never expected this to happen. All he had done was tease Zim a little, and now he was lying on his enemy's couch, dying. At least it felt like that. His head was throbbing, he had a really high fever, he could barely eat because of the stomach aches, his left chin was aching badly, and he was having weird hallucinations.
All because Dib had been holding Zim's glove up in the air, grinning triumphantly and ignoring the smaller aliens yells and threats as he swung his hand away from Zim over and over to prevent his from getting back his glove. All because he hadn't been paying enough attention to him, not noticing the clawed hand that was swung with a good amout of force against his face, causing a minor fleshwound and a horrible amout of pain. All because he didn't know irkens wore gloves because their claws were venomous. And now he was lying there, feeling like dying, because he was an idiot who really should have prioritized reading the files on irken biology he had found in Tak's ship rather than watching Mysterious Mysteries. Zim had only agreed to help the poor kid because he was afraid Dib's parental-unit would test his blood and notice the unfamiliar substance. Luckily for the stink-boy, humans semt to have a rather high tolerance towards the venom. If not, Dib would have died. Not from the poison itself, but from the symptoms.
-"Just one more day and you should start feeling better," Zim announced while putting a thermometer inside Dib's mouth, being returned with a groan of exhaustion.
-"Maybe this will learn you not to mess with the great and amazing irken invader Zim?" Another groan. Zim hadn't really expected him to answer. He started rummaging around in what semt to be a really messy and slightly worn out first-aid kit. You could easily see it was of irken origin, having the irken insignia on it. Dib opened his eyes slightly, noticing the alien pulling out a syringe with a 10 centimetres tip and immediately whimpered. Outside Dib's hallucination the syringe was barely 3 centimetres, and was currently being filled with some sort of clear, blue liquid. Zim grabbed Dib's arm, and Dib pulled his arm back.
-"Do you want to get better or not?" Dib was terrified, but let Zim penetrate his skin and give him another dose of antidote.
-"That wasn't so bad, was it?" Dib smiled weakly and Zim smiled back a bit before climbing onto the couch and sitting next to Dib. He started petting the boys back and after fifteen minutes or so, the kid was asleep. Zim had important things to do, but looking at the earthmonkey he decided against it and joined the Dib in a nap. Just because irkens didn't require sleep, that didn't mean they couldn't sleep, and eventually, he was fast asleep too.
