Josh looks for love - Chapter 2
Disclaimer - I don't hold rights to any of the characters in my fan fiction. For purposes of my story, Nicole has served her time in jail for running over Brooke and the 2 are friends again. Also, this chapter may or may not introduce Deanna McLeod, commonly called 'Dean', who is a fictional character appearing in the fan fiction of author Rain.
On the football field, after practice
Josh comes up to Brooke, who is winding down her cheerleading practice on the adjacent field.
Josh: Brooke, hi, how've you been ?
Brooke: (cheering) Josh, go sit in the stands until I finish this last cheer.
Josh sits in the stands while Sugar comes over and sits as well. The cheer is finished.
Josh: (grabs Brooke's arm as she comes by) Brooke, look, I know you still have feelings for me so why do you keep avoiding me ?
Brooke: (sniffing him) Josh, you're all sweaty and stinky so go take a shower and we'll talk afterwards, okay ?
Josh: Before I go in, just tell me that you think we have a chance together again.
Brooke: we DON'T have a chance, as long as you're married.
Josh: I can change that. And what about Sam ? Can you honestly look me in the eye and say that you love her ?
Lily and Sam come out of the school and come over.
Sam: Brooke, is he bothering you again ?
Josh: Sam, why don't you just slither on home and let me and Brooke work this out.
Lily: (tugs Josh's jersey) AHEM ! You seem to be forgetting someone, Josh. ME ! Your wife !
Josh: Lily, I can't go home with you, tonight. I'm staying at my mom's house.
Lily: What for ? Josh, you're doing everything possible to piss away our marriage. What's wrong with you ?
Sam: Lily, if he doesn't want to come home to you, you can come and stay with me tonight.
Josh: Yeah, Lily, go stay with Sam so Brooke and I can share some alone time together. (He looks at Brooke). Okay, Brooke ?
(Before Brooke can answer, Nicole grabs her by the arm and pulls her aside).
Nicole: Brookie, here's your chance. You're WAY better for Josh than little stick figure there.
Brooke: Nicole, this would be going against everything I've been brought up to know and obey. I am NOT a house breaker.
Nicole: Just give him one night together, okay ? Just for me, please ?
Sam: (yells) Brooke, don't let Satan brainwash you. You and I are together and we're happy together.
Nicole: Spam, if you don't shut up I'm going to shut you up.
Sam: (hands on hips) Oh yeah ? You and what army ?
Nicole rushes at Sam and tackles her, bringing Sugar Daddy off his seat. He pulls Nicole off of Sam before she can land a punch.
Josh: Look, Brooke, I'm going in for a shower but, when I come out, I want to take you home with me.
Brooke: Lily, can I have a word with you ?
Lily: Sure. (They huddle off to the side).
Brooke: Look, I know you're still married to him and you love him a lot, but I think I can cure him of his obsession with me if I do what he says for just one night.
Lily: Brooke, how can you say that ? You'll only be encouraging him.
Brooke: He thinks I'm not gay. I will show him, in bed, whether I love him or not and I guarantee you, he'll come running back to you with his head tucked between his legs.
Lily: Fine. He's yours for one night. (She goes back to Sam). Come on, Sam, let's go meet Harrison at Mr. Cluck's and let these mixed up kids try to sort themselves out. (Takes Sam's arm).
Sam: But -
Lily: We'll be fine. (They walk away).
Josh: I'll see you in 15 minutes, Brooke. (Josh and Sugar head for the showers, leaving Brooke and Nicole in front of the school).
