Chapter One
Run.
The only thing running through my mind was run. I guess I was kind thinking about the fact that I have almost kissed my crush, but the main thing was run.
Okay. This probably doesn't make any sense, so let's start over.
My name is lea and I'm a demigod. That pretty much means that a god(in this case my mother Nike, Greek goddess of victory) had a kid with a mortal(my father), and ended up with me.
Good old me. Putting the people I love in danger, one monster at a time.
Best part: my mom said that she wouldn't ever be around and that I wouldn't be normal. She said that I would have to leave him at some point and go to a camp.
Camp Half-Blood.
It's a summer camp for kids like me. We stay there over the summer (some all year round), and train to stay alive. Plus it's nice to have people tell you that it isn't weird to have monsters attack you and the ones you love.
That's probably why my father told me that I wasn't welcome to live with him, my step-mom, and step-sister, Nea, any more at the age of eleven. Nea begged me to stay or take her with me, were ever it was I was going. But I couldn't put her in any more danger.
That night I ran off to Central Park. For some reason it seemed like the right5 place to go. I found a tall tree and climbed up to try and get some rest. This will take some getting used to, I thought to myself as I sat up in the tree.
At some point I dozed off and ended up being woken up by someone yelling "Hello?" into the tree. A force of habit caused me to jump down out of the tree and pin the person down. I was about to reach for me knife when I saw that I was pinning down a boy. A very cute boy.
When I realized he wasn't a threat, I jumped back and started to franticly apologize to him. He said it was fine as if it happened to him every day. Then he introduced himself.
"Hi. My name is Ryan. You?" he asked me.
Joking around, I responded "Na, my name is Lea, not Ryan."
He laughed at my simple joke. His beautiful green eyes sparkled when he smiled. I smiled at him.
I wonder if he wonders why I was sleeping in a tree, I thought.
As if reading my mind, he asked what I was doing sleeping up in a tree. I explained to him that I had run away from home since I wasn't welcomed. He looked into my soft blue-grey eyes he understood exactly what I was saying.
He asked me if I only had a mom or dad. I told him I had a father and an evil step-mother. I told him that my mom had died after I was born. He asked if I had ADHD or Dyslexia.
"Well don't you have a lot of questions. And yes. I have ADHD." I told him. He just stood there and looked at me for a minute.
"Let's go." he said as he took my wrist and started walking.
"Wait a second. Where are you taking me?" I asked him, pulling my wrist away.
"Somewhere you'll be safe."
