I walked up to the stage in Republic City the stage where they would be giving me my award for saving the city. Even though, I didn't want to take the credit for it. It was all Avatar Korra and her friends. They were so productive. I bet they would have been fine even if I hadn't shown up. I had been so lost in thought I wouldn't have heard them calling my name if Korra hadn't nudged me with her elbow. "We would like to present this Medal of Honor and Bravery to General Iroh, for helping Team Avatar take back the city," Tenzin said. I took a deep breath and stepped up to the stage.

Immediately cheers went up from the crowd everyone cheering and whooping. Some girls in the front row throw flowers on the stage. I looked at them and they all let out ear piercing squeals. As I continued walking, I took in the sight of all the people. They were clapping for me, cheering for me.
A guy can bring his fanbase lots of honor in one way

I couldn't believe it this was all for me just because I had helped saved the city. It's not even like I'd done it by myself. I had just helped the Avater like I had been told.

And your namesake too
I had just done my job to help the Avatar and protect the people. My grandfather had always said that it was my duty to protect people. I bet he would be proud of me. Though I had never met my namesake, I had a feeling he would be, too.

When I finally got up to where Tenzin was standing with the rest of the council members, Tenzin cleared his throat. Everything got immediately quiet. "We the people of Republic City give you this medal as a show of gratitude for the service you have done for us. Though this is not enough to fully show are gratitude we hope that you will accept this small token of our appreciation." He put the medal around my neck and I felt the weight of what it meant heavy on my neck.
With Fire Nation amber eyes and dapper raven hair

But sit in awe and stare
I looked back out to the audience and they burst in to applause for the second time that day. I couldn't look at all of their faces at once, but the ones I did see were filled with awe as they stared at me like I was the greatest hero they had ever seen. Tenzin cleared his throat once again and everyone quieted down. "Iroh, would you like to say a few words?" He looked at me expectantly. I put on my best hero face, "I would love to." As he moved away from the mike and adjusted it, I took the time to gather my thoughts.

We're so glad you're here and finally

When he was done adjusting he motioned for me to step up. I got close up to the mike and began my speech. "I just want to tell all of you what a great honor you have bestowed upon me. I will always protect you with my life. It is my job, what gives me honor. It is an honor to protect the people of Republic City. Thank You." I turned and walked off the stage all the way down the steps I heard them cheering and calling my name. I felt the pride swell inside of me.
