Leorio grumbles as his friends gets swarmed by girls and, of course, not one single girl went near him. Why did he have to suffer being a 4th wheel when hanging out with them? He wonders as he stood up, stomping out of the classroom and to the library. Being in a library somehow cooled him down and he took a deep breath before screaming silently like a lunatic.
Leorio, although popular because of his friends, was still the most unpopular guy at Hunter Academy.
3 years ago when Leorio was still 13 and on his first year of middle school, he was bullied relentlessly and an outcast. No one made friends with him and he sat by himself every single day. After having suffered several bruises and black eyes from his classmates, he was transferred to Hunter Academy so he won't be bullied anymore. Leorio was thankful because he couldn't really do a thing against his bullies for being a coward he was and there he met a strange little boy with spiky black hair.
"Hi, you must be new to Hunter Academy! My name is Gon!" He exclaimed at a bewildered and shocked Leorio. New to this act and having come from a bad neighborhood, Leorio scoffs at the little boy and crossed his arms.
"So what if I'm new, huh?! Besides, do you say that to everyone you think is new here?! Didn't your parents teach you anything about being careful?! What if that person is a kidnapper or a killer?! Jeez!" Leorio yells out really loudly putting attention towards himself. He gets red with anger and stomped his way into the academy before any further embarrassment.
Gon with a perplexed look on his face turns to his bestfriend, Killua Zoldyck. Killua with frosty white hair and cold, lifeless blue eyes glares at Leorio's retreating figure.
"Tch...old geezer only knows how to yell." Killua spat and turn to his friend with a concerned face, adorning his now lively blue eyes. "You okay, Gon? That old geezer didn't hurt your ears or anything?"
"No,... I'm fine, Killua." Gon says with a confused smile on his face. What's wrong with saying 'hi' to strangers? He thought, walking into Hunter Academy.
Scarlet eyes glowing brightly as it watches the two disappear into the school.
Leorio's POV
I walk down the unfamiliar hallways of Hunter Academy, hands deep in my pockets as I glare at all the students that look at me.
"Look, its the guy who yelled at Gon..."
"Isn't he supposed to be in highschool?"
"Lol, he looks like an old geezer."
I pursed my lips together not wanting to yell at another person and walked faster to what I thought was the principal's office. I glared at the floor as I walked, knowing that I was greatly affected by what the others had thought of me. Besides, that little kid, Gon was it?, was being a naive idiot. He should know better than to never talk to strangers. I clenched my fists and stopped in front of the principal's office, or the Chairman's. I put up my fist and knocked on the door.
"Come in." Boomed a loud voice and I trembled as I walked in, but...what I thought was not what I had expected. The Chairman was holding a megaphone on his hand and I almost peed my pants there. I glared at the old geezer and he chuckles? at me.
"Hoho, you must be Leorio Paradinight. Welcome to Hunter Academy!" I rolled my eyes. What else is there to say? "Here's your schedule and the person who'll tour you around the academy will be Gon Freecs." My jaw dropped and before I could even yell out my complaints, Gon's childish voice yelled on the other side of the door.
"Netero-sensei! I'm here!" I cringed at this and immediately shut my mouth, glaring at the old geezer in the corner of my eye before stomping out of his room and slamming the door shut loudly.
Gon looks at me with his bright, brown eyes and I scrunch up my nose in irritation.
"Aaahh,so you are Leorio-san?" He asks and I nod, grumbling stuff to myself.
As we walked around the academy, I noticed that Gon was really really naive, but still nice and friendly. It would be nice to have a friend like h- I cut off my thoughts and shook my head. No... friends only get hurt around me... I sadly thought and Gon seems to notice my depressed state.
"Is something wrong, Leorio-san?" I snap away from my thoughts and looked around me before landing my eyes on Gon. I blushed and shook my head, smiling to myself slightly.
"I-Its nothing and thank you, Gon, for the tour..."
"Mhmm! It was alot of fun!" I nod and turned to leave, but I stopped. I knew I had to say something about this morning. I turned my head a little bit and looked at Gon.
"Sorry 'bout this morning, Gon. And thanks for still being nice to me even after what I had done to you."
"No, its okay, Leorio-san! Besides..." I cocked an eyebrow at him as he rubbed his neck sheepishly. "I didn't understand half of what you told me.." I face-palmed and was about yell, but pursed my lips together.
"Haha, really..." I muttered and started walking away.
Today might not be a bad first day at all...
