Caroline looked over the paper as she drank her coffee, grateful for the bit of silence. It was usually chaos around here, what with so many children, but for once, it was quiet.

Chell and Glados, her 7-year old twins, were watching cartoons/playing games in their room, Sammy and Sol, the hyper 5-year olds they had adopted, were probably being watched (for the moment) by Rick, the 9-year old adventurous bragger. There was also Carmel, the 8-year old kitchen prodigy, and her sister, Aidan, the also 8-year old hot-tempered child.

Yeah, a lot of children. Thankfully, after being rejected from so many day-cares, some of their friends agreed to help babysit. The sitters coming over were Wheatley, a sweet young man who was clumsy beyond belief; Flynn, a man who was kind, but kept giving people incorrect facts; and May, a quiet woman who was being dragged along with her friends.

Caroline sighed as she heard footsteps come down the stairs. Soon enough, Chell and Glados appeared, arguing.

As usual.

"Mom!" Glados whined. "Chell's hurting me again!"

Chell shook her head fiercely, then pointed at her sister, then herself.

"No! You started it!" yelled Glados in apparent response to her twin. Chell was born mute, and Glados had gotten pretty good at figuring out what she meant.

Caroline sighed. "Whatever you guys are doing, stop. I have to leave for work soon, and your sitters will be here shortly. Now, where is everyone?"

Glados- after 'discussing' with Chell- said "Sammy and Sol are playing with our Gamecube, Rick is in the basement pretending to kill ninjas, and Carmel and Aidan are in the kitchen. Behind you." she recited quickly.

"Great."

A doorbell was heard, and Caroline quickly stood up. "Well, I better join your dad at work. I'll see you later, sweeties!" She kissed each twin and hugged them. Over her shoulder, she called out "And make sure Rick doesn't break anything!"

Soon enough, their babysitters ambled in.

"'Ello!" chirped Wheatley. "I'm sure you remember me!" He was the 'veteran' sitter for the children. He knew a lot about the kids, actually, despite not knowing much about anything else. He immediately headed for the basement steps. "I'll go make sure Rick doesn't hurt hims- OW! Ow, ow, ow-"

And there he went, tripping down the stairs, as usual. A slightly pained voice floated up the stairs. "I'm okay!"

Flynn sighed and started upstairs to check on the two kids playing video games. As he passed the stairs, he yelled down "Over 1000 people a year die from falling down stairs."

"Great to know."

And this 'ending' below is only for if you want me to continue. And yes, as per the usual, I will be taking requests. ;D Assuming you want me to keep on it.

May had never sat for these kids before. Indeed, she had almost no experience with kids at all. Especially not these. She knelt down and softly asked the twins "Well, what do you two want to do?"
