Later, no one could say who had suggested it, but the crew of the Waverider found themselves in agreement on returning to Camelot. They had successfully dealt with their latest serious threat to the timeline, the Legion of Doom, and were just drifting in the timestream, recovering and waiting warily to see what the next crisis would prove to be. With no pressing concern, there seemed to be no reason they couldn't spend a little downtime somewhere. The obvious possibility of returning to their original time in 2017 was somehow never suggested, and instead, they piloted to a spot in the medieval forest, a few months after they'd left the previous time and a few miles away from the castle. Upon leaving the cloaked ship in the hands of Dr. Stein, who said he preferred the comforts of the future, they set off towards the castle. They hadn't gone far before they were intercepted by a group of knights.
One of the knights pulled off their helmet, revealing, much like the last time they had been in this position, Guinevere. She smiled broadly.
"Welcome back, honored friends. What brings you back to us? More threats from the future?"
Sara smiled back at her. "Surprisingly, no. Just a visit."
"Splendid. We were nearly ready to return from our patrol. We will accompany you back to the castle." She grinned. "All still leprosy free, I hope?"
Nate grumbled quietly to himself. Apparently he was never going to live this down. The group started moving again. Guinevere quickly angled her horse toward Sara.
"Would you care for a ride?"
Sara looked up, slightly surprised, at the strong arm extended down towards her. She grasped it and was swung upwards. She smiled to herself as she wrapped her arms around the queen's waist. Most of the women she'd kissed or slept with recently were much more passive, putting Sara in a more dominant position, and of course, she was in charge on the Waverider. It was nice to be with another strong, alpha woman again. She'd missed that, since Nyssa. She noticed most of her crew watching her, and narrowed her eyes at Jax when she saw the face he was making. The boy was just jealous.
They were welcomed at the castle with more open arms. Stargirl (or Merlin, as she was called here) was overjoyed to see Amaya again. She was happy with her choice to stay in Camelot, with Arthur, but did miss her old team. The guys were joking around with the knights.
And of course, Sara was sitting next to Guinevere. They had exchanged stories over their meal about the happenings at the castle, and how Sara and the legends had finally taken down the Legion of Doom. They lapsed into somewhat uneasy silence.
"I did not think to ever see you again, Sara Lance." Guinevere finally said.
"I didn't either." Sara admitted. "Look, Guinevere, about, well, last time, I know you're married, and I don't want things to be weird."
Guinevere waved her off. "The King and I have a business relationship. I respect and care for him, but we are no longer lovers. He has a new love himself, and I do not mind." Sara looked over to the king, who was sitting quite close to Stargirl.
"I do not mind" the queen repeated quietly "certainly not now with you here."
People used to wear such complicated clothing, Sara thought. It was taking far longer than she wanted to get Guinevere undressed. Finally the pair collapsed onto the queen's bed naked. Sara started out on top, but soon allowed herself to be flipped onto her back.
"As you likely supposed, I have never been with a woman, but I confess I find the idea of being in charge to be quite appealing." The queen said. She lowered her mouth to Sara's breast, and the blonde woman arched up into her touch.
"You are the queen." Sara pointed out. Guinevere laughed, as her hand made its way between Sara's legs.
"I am indeed." She agreed.
