Sam's POV

"What time is it now?" Freddie asked impatiently.

"You asked me that ten times already Fredweird. Why are so jittery?" I questioned.

"I don't know… it's just, I've never been in detention before." Wow. This kid is such a dweeb.

"How 'bout that time we did the 50th webshow for iCarly?" I asked.

"That didn't count. I was hiding in the closet." We both smiled at this memory.

"What'd you do anyway?"

Freddie looked around, then smiled, "I pulled the fire alarm."

"Oh that's so baddd," I said sarcastically.

"I just wanted to get detention, okay?"

This surprised me. Did he just say he wanted detention?

"Why would you want detention?"

"Well…" Freddie ran his fingers through his hair and took a deep breath, "I wanted to be with you. This is the only way I could get you to listen to me without Carly here."

I didn't know what to say. Dorkie little Freddie had purposely gotten detention so he could spend time with me?

"Well, I'm listening now dork. What do you wanna say?"

"Sam, I know most guys see you as tough, rude and aggressive. But I see through all that and I've known you long enough to know that you're really an amazing person inside."

I think I might have blushed as he was saying all this. Is this for real? No guy has ever said anything like that to me before. I always knew Freddie wasn't like just any other guy. But I wasn't going to fall for this like I've been hit by cupid's arrow.

"But I thought you liked Carly?"

"I did for the longest time. But that was because she was one of the only girls who was ever nice to me and saw past my nerdy personality. She was my first real friend. But after I saved her from the taco truck I realized that she wasn't really the girl I thought she was. When I kissed her I couldn't help but remember the time I kissed you," he took a deep breath before saying, "It was then that I realized that you were the one I liked, not Carly."

This was all way too much for me to take in. Suddenly Mr. Howard came in and dismissed us. As Freddie and I walked out the door, I couldn't help but notice the worried look on his face. He really cares about what I think of him. All this time I'd been looking for the perfect guy, he's been standing right beside me the whole time.

"Hey Freddie," I grabbed his shoulder and turned him around as we walked through the hallway, "do you wanna go to the Groovie Smotthie?"

He seemed a bit surprised, "You mean, just me and you?"

I smiled. He's such a dork, "Isn't that what you wanted?"

"Well, ya, I mean, if you're ok with that," he nervously ran his fingers through his hair again.

I laughed, "Come on nub. Mamma's hungry."

We both smiled and walked out the doors of Ridgeway High School, hand in hand.
