Prelude
The guns, the bullets, the horror, the death. All that is behind me now. Three years of my once perfect life, drained into the bowels of hell. But all that's behind me now.
After the charges were dropped, I met back with Mona. Hit it off real smooth. So smooth that I had forgotten that whole Valkir incident with her an eternity ago. But like I said, that's all behind me now.
After all Mona and I had been through, it just seemed to all fall in place. A perfect match. I didn't know much about her past, but just as me, she was starting over. I didn't even care about her past after leaving mine. I didn't sense any hidden dualities. It sounded so good just playing it by ear.
I'm a bit closer to heaven.
