T o n i g h t
You drive your car along the road,
The windows shielding you from cold.
It isn't late, just ten past twelve
But who believes in ghouls and elves?
Just mutants maybe- aliens
But they won't threaten you again
You trust your boys, the night is safe
But it is late so you make haste.
Your lights, they come across the sight-
A boy alone out in the night.
You usually wouldn't stop you see,
But this is curiosity.
He looks at you, with eyes so light,
They could be white and lacking sight.
You calmly offer him a ride,
Ignoring how you feel inside.
He hadn't spoken all the while
But turns and smiles a chilling smile.
"You'll die tonight" he says with glee,
His teeth are sharp undoubtedly.
You shriek and slam the pedal down,
Bolting out and to the town.
A second glance back at the car,
Sends you skidding on the tar.
You look back up and see the boy,
The ride had simply been a ploy.
But you lash out with all your strength,
You land a blow against his head.
The crack that echoes stills the night.
His neck, it is a chilling sight.
The swollen flesh cannot conceal
The broken bone that would not heal.
But then he smiles - you strain to hear-
He says, "You've won this round my dear.
Remember this- you've tried to run.
But death- it comes for everyone."
He disappears right then you see,
Only bits left there of he.
And as you stare at blood stained ground,
You fail to hear the fatal sound-
A roaring hooter- flash of light.
Death has come for you tonight.
Don't usually write about April. But I got thinking- the guys aren't always there. Things can happen. They won't always get there in time.
