There I was, in the middle of a terribly boring Maths lecture…
Either way, this is just an extremely short Valentine's Day special. The poetry
isn't supposed to be very good, or even good at all. In fact, it should be a
little corny. This is Oliver we're talking about. I'll assume that poetry is
not his strong suite. ^_^ Hope it's to your tastes, anyway. Oh. And,
Cairnsy-san? Happy Valentine's Day. This…is for you. [Except…if you don't like
it and find it terrible, you can ignore that last line I said.]
Be With Thee
By Djinn
Alas, my love,
My heart, it longs
for thee
For thither are
thee far, far
From my empty arms
My senses miss th'
assault
Of thy winning
charms
Tis love, I say,
Tis love that
leads me long
To pluck the
cherry blossom
From thy cherry
lips
To, hands
entwined, drink from thy
Wine with gentle sips
Intoxicating,
Like th' wine-red
of thy hair
Wine on wine,
flame on flame set
My heart upon fire
Such sweetness,
how it be wrong?
This searing
desire
And love, thy
eyes,
Oceans of midnight
blue
How many sailors
have been
Lost in these dark
seas?
Am I, too, doomed
to just
Another sailor be?
So, there 'en,
love
I wish thee in my
arms
And this
Valentine's, oh how
Much I wish thee
near
So much I wish to
be with
Thee, my Perc –
All of a sudden, the paper was snatched from his hands. He looked up in a panic - to see Professor McGonagall, eyes flashing with righteous anger, scanning down the verses.
Oliver gulped. Maybe it wasn't such a good idea to drift off during Transfiguration after all, even if he did miss a certain redhead on Valentine's day so very much. Of course, he noted wryly, the revelation came a little too late.
Then, Professor McGonagall's face softened. A small grin quirked up the corners of her lips, and a mischievous spark entered her eyes.
To Oliver's vast astonishment, she winked at him, intoning a line of spontaneous rhyme.
"Tis a sight I'd ne'er thought I'd see - Oliver Wood writing love poetry."
END
…Was that too bad? Oh, how the poem ends? I'll give you a hint. It rhymes with 'near'. ^_^; [That's it. I'm going out of my mind.] By the way, the title is actually a parody of the title of a certain GLAY song. Either way, Happy Valentine's Day. Hope it was okay.
