Dawn Aurora smoothed down her dress. It really wasn't like her to wear a dress, but whoever heard of a wedding without a white dress?
She sighed.
Today was the day she would wed a man for whom she did not harbour feelings for at all. Kadaj was nice, but she didn't love him, not the way she loved him.
As she shut her eyes, she allowed images, memories of him to emerge from the dark corners of her mind. After today they would once again lay forgotten, she might as well give them one last look through.
Her breath constricted and hot tears threatened to leave her eyes. And then the music played. The door opened and Dawn smiled.
She walked towards her soon-to-be husband. One step, two steps until she reached his side. Turning her head slightly, she sees him. But he was with someone else now, and she would be too in a matter of minutes.
The next few minutes were a blur. All she heard was, "You may kiss the bride."
She closed her eyes and smiled into the kiss. It wasn't Kadaj who was kissing her, no.
It was Genesis.
