Chocolate

At first I drew fanart, then decided to make fanfic out of it. ^_^ Don't ask me how Yama got the money to buy the stuff. And we all know that Jyou is health-consious(a lot more health-consious here, actually), don't we? Yama finds that out…grins Hm, is it just me or do I make Yamato the unlucky one?…Any rate, Happy Valentine's Day everyone!

Chocolate

By Mae

The doorbell tinkled as the blond came into the shop. The old woman at the counter smiled a toothless grin.

He looked around, poking here and there. He stopped at the cards section, flipping through some. The old woman regarded him suspiciously. He shot a glare at her, and put the card down. She scowled back in return.

Foul old women.

He strolled to the candy section, deliberately annoying the shopkeeper. He picked a few boxes up, and looked at the price tag. Smiling, he winked as he looked back at the woman. Her eyes lighted up. "Ye buyin' that, you youn' rogue?"

"Maybe."

She frowned, but grinned as the blond moved to the right, where all the boxes were pretty as well as the prices. "Or that, eh?"

His eyes scanned the shelves, and reached out for the top one. Pulling the big, red box down, he turned and walked to the counter.

The old woman's fingers quickly pressed onto the keys of the cash register. "Wha' about a few flowers? When ah was youn' ah liked flowers."

The blond refused as he pulled out a fifty dollar note. The old woman glowered at him, then gave him the box, still holding the change tightly.

"Oh, all right. Keep the change."

He walked out as the woman said, "God bless you, youn' man."

"Apparently not enough to find a better gift shop around here." He opened the door, and rushed out.

Yamato stuffed the present in his bag, trying not to let his mom see. He hurried down the stairs, refusing breakfast. After a complaint from his stomach, he reluctantly bit onto a piece of toast, and ran out of the house. Running along the street, he devoured the rest of his cold toast.

"I can't be late!"

Trying to smooth out his messy hair, he almost tripped. Stumbling to his feet again, he egged himself on by the sight of the school.

"Almost there…Courage, Yamato!" He ran faster, wind blowing in his face.

He arrived, looking messy. "I can't look like this," He moaned. "Not today!" Stopping for a moment, he tried to straighten himself up.

He rushed up the stairs like a hurricane, all up to the sixth floor. Panting, he pulled the present out of his bag. He made his way to one of the classes on the other side.

Sighing in relief, he stood in the doorway. He forced his weary eyes open, and in an insant, looked bishounen.

Ignoring the stares of the others in the class, he walked up to a table. Holding out the present in red paper, he smiled, flashing pearly white teeth.

"Happy Valentine's Day, Jyou-chan."

Jyou looked up from the book that he was reading. His is eyes widened, and he blushed. He carefully took the red heart and removed the ribbon. Peeking inside, he saw the chocolates.

"Yama-kun…"

Yamato beamed, silently uttering a 'yes!' in his mind.

"It's wonderful…"

He leaned forward on the table, face close to Jyou's. "You're welcome-"

"But, chocolates are so bad for teeth, and you see, it can also cause diabetes, and-"

Walking along the corridor, Yamato looked back at the class and saw Jyou giving the chocolates out. He sighed.

"I knew I should have just bought the card."
