"I do."

The crowd burst into applause, and in some cases, tears. The bride and groom kissed, and everyone cheered and cried.

Lily Evans (now Potter) wrapped her arms around her fiancé (now husband), and whispered, "I love you."

A few hours later, the music pounded through the speakers, and the guests were dancing. (Well, most of them. Some had too much to drink.)

"Sonorus," muttered Mr. Potter. "QUIET DOWN NOW, PLEASE, THE BRIDE AND GROOM HAVE A FEW WORDS." The guests sank into a murmur.

"This is the story of our first date," began Lily.

There was a collective, "Aaaaaaaahw."

"After six years of pestering my lovely bride, she finally agreed to come to Hogsmeade with me." said James.

"Excuse me, you gave me a love potion!"

"No no no, not that time. Although that was a lovely first kiss."

"Shut up. Talk about the real one." Lily playfully hit him.

"Anyways, we were in Honeydukes, and she starts trying to flirt with me."

"You started it!"

"No I didn't! I only-"

"-asked if I wanted a kiss."

"I was talking about chocolate," grinned James.

"No you weren't."

"Okay, fine. I was flirting, and she thought I was hot-"

"Noooo. I did not think you were hot."

"Well eventually she started flirting back. But she was horrid at it."

Lily burst into giggles. "That's true."

"And she said-"

"So, do you like bread?"

James smacked his hand to his face. "As I said, horrid."

"Then he said 'No' and-"

"She said 'Neither do I!' So we spent the rest of the date talking about our common hatred of bread."

"I couldn't believe he didn't like bread, but of course, I wasn't going to disagree with him on our first date."

"Wait- I was joking! I was just trying to be funny."

"You were joking?! I thought you were serious! I just agreed with you because I didn't want to argue!"

"So you like bread?"

"You like bread?"

"Yes."

"Yes."

"We were both pretending not to like bread?!"

"So we spent all these years never eating bread for nothing?!"

"I wouldn't say it was for nothing. Look where we are now." James smiled.

"To bread?" asked Lily.

"To bread," agreed James, lifting his glass.
