The attack on the school had left a great number missing

Disclaimer-I don't own any of the characters. They belong to JK Rowling, the author of the Harry Potter books. Juliet Morrison, I don't think has been mentioned though. The Lyrics for 'You'll be in my Heart' belong to Phil Collins.

The attack on the school had left a great number missing. Among the few who were first to feel the wrath of Lord Voldemort were Colin Creevy, a Gryffindor in the year below Harry, Terry Boot, a Ravenclaw and Juliet Morrison, a tall pretty Hufflepuff in her last year at Hogwarts. Harry, along with the rest of the unharmed students at Hogwarts were sleeping in their common rooms, the safest places in the castle. Some students who were badly injured were in the hospital wing, being treated my Madame Pomfory. Ron was among them, as was Neville.

Overall, about 50 students were lost. Some were killed instantly when Voldemort's Avada Kedarva spell swept through the school. Some were tortured for the whereabouts of Dumbledore or Harry. Others died from injuries. It was a sad day at Hogwarts.

sHarry awoke feeling very uncomfortable inside. All those people had died yesterday because of him. Tears pricked his eyes and he hastily wiped them away. No one ever saw the brave Harry Potter cry.

As his consciousness returned he noticed a warm, huddled up body next to his. Hermione was sleeping soundly next to him, in her sleep hugging him. Harry didn't mind thought. He needed to be held, even if the person hugging him didn't realise it. He shifted slightly on the massive mattress Professor McGonagoll had conjured up. Everyone was sleeping on a very large bed. A few feet away, Harry could make out Ginny's red hair and next to her, Fred and George, her brothers.

Awoken by his movement, Hermione lifted her head up, her hair very tousled.

"Go back to sleep Harry." she whispered, seeing him awake.

"I can't sleep." Muttered Harry, running a hand through his hair. Hermione understood. She pulled him into a tight hug. This time, the tears came again, but Harry did nothing to stop them.

"Its all my fault. I should have never been born." He moaned.

"Don't' say that." Said Hermione looking at him. "If you had never been born, I wouldn't have the greatest friend in the world, who I trust with my life."

"Really?"
"Sure, you've saved it loads of times." She replied, Hermione began to recall the times until Harry felt the blush come. "See?"

"Hmmm."

"Look, it wasn't your fault. Voldemorts just an evil man who likes to reign havoc. You don't come into it." Hermione said.

"So why was he trying to find me?" Harry asked. Hermione fell silent. That was the one question Hermione couldn't answer.

"I don't know." She answered truthfully. "Now try to get back to sleep, hmmm?"

"OK." Harry said, lying down again. He closed his eyes, but couldn't fall asleep. Then, Hermione began to sing softly a muggle song she had heard over the radio.

"Come stop your crying it'll be all right
Just take my hand, hold it tight.
I will protect you from all around you
I will be here, don't you cry

For one so small, you seem so strong
My arms will hold you, keep you safe and warm
This bond between us, can't be broken
I will be here, don't you cry.

'Cause you'll be in my heart
Yes, you'll be in my heart
From this day on
Now and forever more

You'll be in my heart
No matter what they say
You'll be here in my heart always
Always."

Harry slipped into the world of slumber, smiling, never remembering anyone sing him to sleep.
